Getting around

Ancarva is conveniently located for exploring all over Cornwall and has great transport links on the door step including bus stop (1 min walk), rail branch line (10 mins walk but station has free parking) - easily get to St Ives, Penzance, Truro etc. Falmouth is only 10'mins in the car but why not avoid the traffic and parking fee's and use the train. It takes less than 10 mins to Fal and is a bargain. Consider buying a 'Mussel Card' from Fal River website: This offers deals on inclusive bus, rail and water taxi's tickets.

“The Best weekend away ever”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2018

The cottage was just perfect for our stay in Cornwall and the people we meet over the couple of day were the nicest friendliest people you would want to meet

Owner's reply: Hi Paul, absolutely great to hear you had such a great weekend celebrating Jenny's birthday. Hopefully we'll see you both again soon.

“Beautifully decorated, charmig cottage in excellent location.”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2015

We were met by Jacqui and Simon who had prepared a beautiful cream tea for our enjoyment. They showed us around the cottage and explained everything we needed to know and also gave us some ideas of where to eat and drink locally. They were really friendly and made us feel at home. We loved the cottage which is decorated beautifully and contains all ou need for a self catering break. They have put together a book of useful information and places to visit which is extremly useful particularly if you are new to the area. We loved the secret garden and spent time soaking up the sun, relaxing and having a drink. The cottage is in a very central location and has a train station 10 mins walk away which we used to visit Falmouth and St Ives. This was a very relaxing way to visit without the need to find a carpark space. The local pub is very friendly and the food is excdellent, booking is recommeded as it was busy every evening. Overall we had a fantastic week and will certainly be returning.

Owner's reply: Such a kind review, thank you! We particularly appreciate the comments about the welcome you received and the decor of the cottage. It makes us realise the extra effort of ensuring our guests are content and attention to detail of the decor in the cottage enhances our guests experience. We look forward to welcoming you back in the not too distant future. Oh and remember our returning guests are treated to 'Bubbles' with their welcoming cream tea!

It sounds like you had a lovely time staying in Ancarva and enjoyed the serenity of the 'Secret Garden' and the friendly atmosphere of the local village.
