“Perfect couple and dogfriendly stay” A lovely quiet location at the end of a village lane, with an enclosed garden, so a perfect dogfriendly stay. Walks from the door which is always a bonus. The cottage is small but very comfortable - ideal for a couple. Looking forward to returning.

“Great value” This is a lovely home from home - there is everything you could need. The location makes visiting lots of places of interest very accessible. Lovely enclosed garden to enjoy especially if the weather is good and you can sit out and enjoy the bottle of fizz that Colin seems to leave for all his guests !

“Short Break in Northumberland” We had a really enjoyable stay at Brigand Cottage. Donald gave us a warm welcome and some tips on what to see. The welcome food package of milk, bread, butter, eggs and cake was very generous and much appreciated. The beach and coast were beautiful and unspoiled. The cottage was clean, comfortable and quirky........what's not to like!

“Idyllic country retreat.” Stayed at the beginning of August. The cottage was beautiful. Excellent facilities and lovely enclosed garden. Booked for next year as soon as we came back. Surrounding area is wonderful for long country walks or cycling the old Tyndale railway between Haltwhistle and Alston. Best cottage we have stayed in and we've been doing it for 25 years.

“excellent” We had an excellent stay at your cottage in Bellingham. Its location to all the surrounding attractions is great and to be centrally located in the village is an added extra. The cottage has all you need and more and we will be definitely booking to come again!!!!

“Perfect Stay” We stayed in the The Old Police House, a three bedroom house which is directly opposite the hotel. Sadly we were only there for one night but were so impressed we have booked a longer stay in three cottages later in the year. The standard of the accommodation was absolutely superb, every facility that could be imagined is there, including a wine chiller, dishwasher, washing machine. the cottage itself was spotlessly clean and very well furnished. We are regular visitors to the area and Embleton in particular and the beauty and serenity of the North Northumberland coast is (in our opinion) unsurpassed anywhere in the world. Can't wait to go back

“Well equipped, comfortable, peaceful, great location - the dogs loved it so did we” Our friends arrived before us so waited at the Trap Inn, a lovely dog friendly pub less than 5 minutes walk away. When we eventually arrived and could let them in they got to sit in the kitchen and watch us cook them dinner! We were pleasantly surprised by how well equipped the kitchen was, plenty of pots, bowls, knives etc and given we used most of them thankfully there was a dishwasher. Everything about the property was clean and spotless and of a high standard. We found the location a great base from which to visit the local area (Warkworth, Alnmouth, Alnwick, Druridge Bay, Tynemouth, Craster (kippers and Dunstanburgh castle) and Bamburgh castle all within an easy drive). Having two enclosed gardens for the dogs was great. We would definitely go back.

“Great weekend break” Friends and I stayed in what is advertised as a cottage suite during the low season. This was a lovely fully equipped 2 bedroom cottage [police house cottages] with breakfast and evening dinner taken in the Dunstanburgh castle hotel just across the road.. The accommodation was excellent, the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel food was of a very good standard with a great menu choice. If you enjoy the convenience of good quality hotel food but prefer the space and privacy of a cottage, this is an excellent deal and great value for money..

“First class, warm and welcoming experience, nothing was too much trouble.” From arrival to departure our needs were met, the cottage was very comfortable clean and warm, even had a log fire laid ready to light. We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast, and found the food excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

“A lovely cottage with a homely feel” The cottage was well looked after and had a very local feel, with some nice pictures and nautical themed decorations. The welcome cake was very nice, and the garden was a real sun-trap (we were lucky to get some sun!). Swallows came to investigate and may be nesting now. The area is beautiful, we visited the Farne Islands, and had the experience of being bombed by terns - not to be missed, and they didn't! The bunk beds are full-sized, but we were four adults and personally we found the second room a little small, though it would be quite OK for a family with children.

“Beautiful Cottage” From the first point of contact we had excellent service and we werent disappointed when we arrived the cottage is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. The web site, details of how to get here and information provided in the cottage is first class - lots of attention to detail to make your holiday informative and relaxing. Lovely welcome pack from the Running Fox on arrival. Lots of lovely places to visit from the cottage and the Running Fox accross the bridge is a must beautiful home cooked breads and cakes. New landlady in the Northumberland Arms very welcoming and we hope the pub is a success for her she deserves it. Morning visit at the back door from the ducks!! Would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to anyone and certainly value for money. We have had a lovely time and will most certainly book next time we are in the area.

“Amazingly , it get's better....” I have just returned home from my latest visit to Sally's. I am 400 miles away but wish I was back there already. The cottage is just soooooo relaxing and Island life is well...laid back too. The cottage has undergone some subtle tweaks and changes which are nice but basically it is just always fab. Fresh flowers , bottle of wine and delicious scones on arrival ( not to mention the fudge!!). The hugely comfortable beds and everything spotless. On the Island itself the Castle has finished it's refurb and is well worth a visit and Pilgrims Coffee House is undergoing a huge facelift which will be brilliant for the "coffee lovers" who have'nt seen it yet. Basically Charlotte , picking Sally's Cottage as a first choice is a no brainer. Peter
