GILLYWEED, smart waterside converted malt house, overlooking the river in
Our second stay... we just love the location!
We returned to Gillyweed as we love the location and the property is superbly presented.
Our only slight disappointment this time was the poor quality of cleaning - none of the floors had been swept or washed, the kitchen stank of fat and the canopy was filthy. It was clear only a cursory clean had been done, which was a shame as it meant my holiday began having to wash the floors and give the kitchen a clean. Not really what you expect but I realise the letting company have to rely on others to perform the changeover but it should have been checked.
That aside, we love the whole property which is decorated with interesting artwork and is very well equipped.
Watching the tides makes you very lazy indeed.... long walks around the headland from Gillyweed are amazing and a great way to earn your stop at the Ship Inn for lunch! …

Fantastic lodge - every home comfort provided
The pictures for the lodge don't do it justice in terms of just how much space there is inside, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The lodge itself is brand new and was immaculate. The living area is bright and spacious and the kitchen was fantastically equipped with a slimline dishwasher, induction hob, microwave and a washer/dryer. The outside decking was a real sun trap and provided lovely views over the area. The beds were very comfortable and there was ample storage space for clothes (and plenty of hangers!) both the en-suite and the family bathroom were immaculate and the showers delivered high pressure and plenty of hot water. The lodge itself is situated on a small quiet site and Scott the owner was a fantastic source of local information and very welcoming. It was great to be located right in the heart of the village and be able to walk down to the shop or the pub or just go and watch the boats on the river. We had a fantastic holiday and would book this accommodation again without hesitation. …
