“Very clean, characterful and comfortable country refuge” We stayed for two nights in June with our two pre-school children. We were delighted to see how lovely the accommodation is - it's hard for the pictures to do justice to it. This is a high quality renovation using solid, good quality materials. It's also cosy and welcoming!
We didn't have a single problem - there were a few necessary staples in the cupboards (even dishwashing gloves!), unlike some self-catering accommodation, where they remove everything that has been left by previous guests, forgetting that it might be useful.
Helen and Raymond were very helpful and were on hand should we have needed any help or had any questions. Lovely freshly baked bara brith on arrival. The children were invited to use the trampoline and the goal posts and other toys left out for them by Helen, which, on top of the Llangollen steam railway nearby, made their holiday.
We are looking forward to returning. P.S. There is a pub ten minutes away (the Moors Inn) which, while not a "gastro" pub, is very friendly and obliging, taking our orders at 9pm on a Friday evening.
We stayed here for Christmas. It had everything we could need to make it a magical experience.
Our little girls were concerned Santa might not find them but he did. They hung their stockings on the pretty bed frames in their beautiful bedroom on Christmas Eve and woke to find them filled with goodies.
Our dog, Saffy loved the fireside and we spent time relaxing in front of it ourselves.
Bellringers cottage made a wonderful home from home for us while we celebrated the festive season with the rest of our family who stayed with my brother in the village.
We recommend it whole heartedly. …
TY BUDDUG, stone-built cottage, character features, hot tub, woodburner
Me and my girlfriend and friends visited for her 30th and it was a great time. The Owens were great and really welcoming, the only issues we had was that there seemed to be a lot of rules, unsure if this was them being very well organised or not. Also slightly annoying that the internet went off on the second day and didn't come back the rest of the stay, otherwise was really enjoyable stay they let us check in early as it was ready and as they had no one booked in after us they were happy for us to check out any time too so was otherwise very laid back and enjoyable. …
What an amazing and beautiful place to stay. Kids absolutely loved it and Would defiantly stay again. Owners were fantastic too. …
The perfect getaway
We really needed a break and this was just the perfect place. I can honestly say we have never been somewhere so relaxing. The lodge is beautiful and really well appointed and the couple who own it are just so welcoming. They even left us a welcome basket with some really tasty pate in it which we later found out they made, can definitely recommend Patchwork Pate. The views from the lodge are stunning and the surrounding area is really beautiful. We ventured out to Llangollen which was a great trip and to the local for some food one evening but most of the time we chose to stay in and around the lodge. We really didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning! …
