“Perfect place to relax.” Well set out on one floor, with plenty of room to chill out. We had two small dogs with us that were able to explore the garden without any worry. Although the weather wasn't very kind to us our weeks stay was most enjoyable.

“Lovely Cottage” We stayed here for a week over the Easter break. The cottage is in an ideal location, very comfortable and well equipped. A short walk down the lane brings you to the beach where there is the lifeboat station and café. The beach has some sandy areas but mainly rocks and pebbles, very interesting beach, lovely to walk along. The cottage has a beach hut on the front which is equipped with deck chairs etc. The cottage is also in easy walking distance of the shops and pubs. We would recommend ‘The Crab and Lobster Inn’ which is very friendly and with very good food.

“A classic british holiday break” Myself, my wife and our 6-year old Springer Spaniel had a wonderful break here. Lovely cosy cottage, great sea location, and a short walk into Yarmouth town. We recommend this property without reservation

“The space of a house with the feel of a cottage!” We had 4 nights at Ferndale with 7 family members and found the house to be absolutely perfect for a larger group of people. All of the bedrooms were very comfy and well furnished. The views out the kitchen and living room windows make the interior feel spacious and full of light whilst still being a cozy spot if the weather turns ugly. We were lucky enough to get some sun during our stay and enjoyed one of the beautiful walks in the wood over the road. The house is a quick drive from Niton and 25 minutes to the ferry at Fishbourne. Easy! We will definitely be coming back, and can highly recommend Ferndale.

“Excellent facilities, in a unique setting” The facilities were excellent and the accommodation very close to the sea. There were two very good restaurants close by which had been recommended by the owner.

“Lovely cottage in a perfect location for exploring the island” We stayed for 2 weeks at Marmalade cottage and from the moment we walked through the door we felt right at home. The cottage is great for a family of four with ample space (inside and out) to be together as a family but also to grab a bit of alone time too. Colin and Julie thought of everything we needed, from the essentials in the kitchen to things like sun loungers in the shed and swings for the kids. You can tell that they really want their guests to enjoy the cottage and the island. The location is great too, more especially for the east side of the island (where a lot of the islands attractions are) and is only a few minutes drive down to the clean sandy beach at Sandown. Once at Sandown it's a lovely walk (30 mins or so) down to Shanklin along the seafront. One tip. Do the lighthouse tour at St Catherine's. For £12 for a family of four it's good value and we all learned a lot about the maritime world! We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Colin and Julie and Marmalade Cottage to anyone looking for some home comforts on holiday. David and Kim

“Brilliant” We stayed for a week and it was like a home from home, everything you could need or want. We really enjoyed our visit to the Isle of Wight and Brookside Cottage provided a lovely haven to come back to after a day exploring.

“A super stay in a fantastic cottage” I could not fault this cottage and it's gardens. The cottage has a classic cottage look with a big mature garden and great sea views. Inside, the cottage is homely, has all the mod cons, very clean and roomy. There is a small post office shop just down the road and Ventnor is only a couple of miles away. The service was friendly and efficient. I would definately recommend staying here.

“Excellent accommodation - location and local people” Good walks at rear and front of the property on this dog friendly island. Property overlooks the sea with fenced green area (for Victoria cottages residents) where rabbits and children can play. In this area dogs must be on a lead for safety and hygiene reasons. Very short walk through this green takes you to the sea where dogs can wander freely. Walk to the left and beach is okay for sandcastles but nowhere is safe for swimming. Only two of us, plus dog, but cottage would comfortably house 4 adults. Very smart, clean and quiet. Only small fenced front garden if your dog is an escape artist but the wood at back has good trails that lead to view of Needles and eventually coastal path. We love the area and cottage .... BUT don't expect to find supermarkets in good supply. However there is a Co op in Freshwater. 15 mins walk into Yarmouth good for eating and tourism but quite small.

“Perfect retreat” A late change of plan brought us to Newclose Farm, the converted dairy sheds made for excellent accomadation. Spacious,very well furnished it really felt like our home for the week we were here. Highly recommend this as a place to stay for the west of the island, lovely walks, scenic coastline and great country pubs. For us a perfect out of season break.
