“Comfortable accommodation in a quiet and pleasant area” Highlight of the holiday was returning to the property via the beautiful drive along the south coast after a day's sightseeing, knowing that we had a cosy and comfortable 'home' to return to. The proximity to Yarmouth and the ease of the crossing was a plus, (vacating the property, calling at the beach cafe opposite for coffee and then only having to leave 5 minutes before the time to be at the ferry, felt a very relaxing way to end the holiday)
“Brilliant Stay” The Ferry crossing was uncomplicated and organised.
Dogs are allowed in the lower deck and on the sun deck which has wonderful views of the Island and the Solent.
When you arrive on the Island at Yarmouth you are only 3-4 mins drive away from the cottage.
The cottage is easily accessible, Clean and well equipped an excellent base to begin or end your day.
There are views of the Solent from the lounge and the Master bedroom (Which has a really comfortable bed) where you have an excellent view of the yachts, boats, and ships sailing by. Within walking distance of the cottage there are woodland walks, coastal path walks with spectacular views of the Solent, you are also on the doorstep of Fort Victoria country park which hosts interesting attractions with ample free parking and a sea front cafe, also along the beach is the Beach hut cafe which is dog friendly.
Whether you require relaxation, Walking, Views or activities for young or old the Island caters for almost everything with plenty of individual businesses and attractions you can easily access by foot, Car, or Bus. I would recommend this Holiday cottage it had everything that we needed and is in excellent condition for its age, (built in 1855)
I would also recommend a minimum of a weeks stay to everyone but even this may not be long enough to fit everything in, a very enjoyable place to stay and visit and revisit time and time again, I know that we will be going back.
Thank you very much we had a wonderful time at the cottage.
“Practically perfect in every way!” This is a great property if you have small children and don't wish to have to use the car every day. We visited the beach daily - a 2 mins walk from the front door. The coastal path is outside the back door and if you choose, you can walk for miles. We also walked to Yarmouth, which takes about 15 mins.
The property is light and airy, very clean, well organised and has all the amenities and facilities you require. There are a few internal steps on the ground floor, they are easily manageable but be aware if you have limited mobility or crawling children! The second bedroom is fairly small, with two single beds, but again easily manageable. The whole property is very tastefully furnished and comfortable.
This is a very peaceful location with lovely neighbours. We did the majority of our shopping before we left the mainland, so I can't comment on the shops! Petrol IS expensive, so if you're travelling over by ferry, it's definitely advisable to fill up first. There are lots of great attractions around the Island and everywhere seems to be under an hours drive away.
We loved it and are already planning our next trip back!
“Exceptional property with great views” We've rented quite a few holiday cottages and this is one of the best we've stayed in. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and the property is welcoming, spotlessly clean and very well-equipped.
It's in a great location near to pubs and a shop, and we all enjoyed the garden with its beautiful views. It also makes a great base for touring the island. I would not hesitate to recommend Three Gables.
