“We love this house.” The Mill House can't really be faulted for good taste or facilities. The bedrooms are luxurious, the bathrooms huge and spotless with great white baths and modern showers. It's got all (really, all!) mod cons, elegant furnishings, stone and wood floors and lots of land/garden for sitting and wandering. It's a quick walk down to the seaside and the house is convenient for the rest of the island while being rural and quiet. Brighstone village (a few minutes walk) is notable for its lovely shops (get everything from your newspaper and pint of milk to a huge array of local produce). The house is very handsome indeed, and the owners have, I noted this time, done all necessary work on the very few areas that showed any signs of age in recent years (I've visited The Mill House 4 times in 4 years). The place makes me feel like I've joined the smart set and I've slowly learned how to use an Aga (though there's a posh electric Neff if you can't be bothered). If you have children you can use the giant TV in a separate room on rainy days. Barbecue, do laundry, try to use more than a fraction of the endless stores of lovely crockery and the kitchen kit (you won't be able to), sit about in the big sitting room reading 'Island Life' and feeling like you really ought to buy a yacht once you win the premium bonds.... the place is vast, as well, so you can escape to another part of it any time. They do short breaks. Um ... I really feel I should live there ....

“Carriers Stable - Superb” Have had a wonderful New Year break at Carriers Stable in Brigstone,Isle of White. From start to finish Vanessa and Glyn helped and communicated at short notice allowing us a break in their 5* accommodation. Everything was as described and more, home from home. We had a superb dwelling, great location, Christmas theme, lovely bed linen and fluffy towels. A nice garden area for having breakfast watching the birds on warmer days. The village has a shop, church and a pub with an abundance of walks around the area to explore. A great break and somewhere to recommend or return to with no hesitation. Thank you both.
