“High quality, spacious accommodation in the heart of Exmoor” Our trip was fantastic with excellent walks onto Exmoor National park right from the doorstep. The village of Exford has excellent amenities including 2 good pubs which can be reached by a short walk along a river path. The accommodation was very spacious and well planned out. There was plenty of room for everyone and plenty of room to relax.
“A wonderful relaxing week on Exmoor” My wife, myself and our dog Rosie have just returned from a week spent at Snowdrop cottage. We found the cottage to be perfectly equipped with everything you would need for a week away, the enclosed garden being great for Rosie.Dave and Michele were always on hand to give advice on places to visit etc.Exford is situated centrally on Exmoor with numerous places to visit, pubs and tearooms all nearby plus miles of great walking right on the doorstep. We look forward to many return visits.
“Ideal, cosy, dog friendly cottage on edge of village” Wonderful week, ideal for walks and a short walk from village amenities. Good facilities, warm, clean and well appointed. Adequate bathroom, apart from Exmoor water pressure! Would love to come back again.
“The perfect location to explore the great outdoors and less than a minutes walk to fab food and drink!” I have stayed at this cottage twice now (October and March) and will definitely return. The location is perfect in the heart of Exmoor and in the centre of the village of Exford. The cottage is IMMACULATE and offers very comfortable accommodation for 4 people. The cottage is less than a minutes walk from a choice of pub/hotel, both serving good food and drinks! Lots of outdoorsy stuff on offer in the locality - either walk from your front door or take a short trip to explore further afield. We will be back again and again and again.........!
This is our 4th visit back to this wonderful cottage.
We stayed a week in August fantastic weather and spent alot of time on the patio.
We stayed on 6th October for a week for the rut.
Lots of wildlife again to see and appreciate.
Fantastic weather warmer than normal.
White horse inn is excellent for food and a great variety.
A good co-op in dulverton along with a butcher's and bakers in dulverton.
Copper Kettle in Dulverton is lovely for breakfast but have heard the bridge tea rooms has been sold do cannot wait to hear what this will be like again.
We went to allerford and bossington 2 lovely little villages but extremely narrow lanes.
We had a much needed chilled and relaxed break.
The cottage was lovely and warm as always and everything you need to enjoy your stay in this beautiful cottage.
Thank you once again Carolynn & David.
Looking forward to coming back again next year …
THE OLD FORGE Cottage in the Heart of Exmoor
Exford's little Gemma
The Olde Forge had everything we needed . It is immaculately clean , tastefully decorated and very well equipped . It's position right in the middle of the village overlooking the green means that it is close to to the village shop and only a stone's throw from two excellent pubs . Can recommend the White Horse particularly on Carvery and Pie nights.
Exford is well situated for lots of good walks and we had several good sightings of Red a Deer. …
Gorse Cottage - Riscombe Farm
A great farm. Stay experience. Quite location with excellent facilities
The farm Cottage is along a narrow lane. It may be off the main road, but the location and facilities are worth it. A great stay and a central location within Exmoor National Park. Happy to stay again. …
Mountain Ash Cottage
Great cottage in stunning Exmoor
Well equipped cottage with good sized secure garden for dogs (and kids).
Lovely location, owners very friendly and helpful. Pubs and afternoon tea within easy walking distance. We would all be more than happy to repeat the experience. …
Clean, comfortable, welcoming and surrounded by charm!
We really enjoyed our time at Snowdrop cottage, we were welcomed into a charming, and very clean cottage and I was surprised by how well equipped it was. Everything we needed from a cot (for our 1 year old) to a coffee press was provided. There was plenty of wood for the fire and even a little pint of milk in the fridge. The only suggestion I could make is that there would be a fire-guard provided but we were able to put the coffee tables in the way as a makeshift barrier easily enough.
(Please note that there is no door between the upstairs and downstairs so if you're staying with a baby, they have to be ok with a little noise when sleeping, but we managed just fine.)
The owners were very friendly and our daughter absolutely adored seeing the dogs, horses and chickens on the farms. This made our stay very easy as she was always entertained.
We also found the location to be ideal - you're never too far away from the beautiful spots in Exmoor (Tarr steps, Dunster Castle, Lynton) and you're just down the road from a lovely pub (the White Horse Inn) which was showing the six nations rugby and has a selection of over 150 whiskeys (which made for a very happy husband!).
All in all, an excellent stay at a very reasonable price! …
Perfect for pets and their family
Great location, 5 minute walk along the river to Exford, where we had a very reasonable meal at the White Horse. Cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. …
