“Comfortable and welcoming, both for people and dogs”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2015

One of the most dog friendly places we have stayed . The cottage was very spacious and could easily accommodate up to 4 people. We had 3 people and three large dogs and did not feel overcrowded or cramped. There was a good welcome on arrival and David and Michelle were available if needed. It was a bonus to have access to footpaths and bridleways directly from the farm. In all a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2014

We rented Rowan Cottage for a week this summer holidays. It is a two bedroom cottage in the exmoor national park within walking distance to the picturesque village of Exford. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is very big, with large kitchen and living room downstairs and 2 good sized bedrooms and a small bathroom upstairs. The cottage has a large back yard and a beautiful outlook. It is very close to a bridal path that leads to Exford. We highly recommend The Crown pub for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rowan Cottage. Perfect for families!

“A lovely holiday on Exmoor”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2014

We stayed for one week in the charming Rowan Cottage at Court Farm. We took our two dogs and found the cottage to be very "dog friendly" with a safe enclosed garden also lovely for children. The rooms were all of a very good size and were well equipped and comfortable. The owners were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The cottage is about 5 minutes walk from Exford itself which has 2 dog friendly pubs which serve good food and allow well behaved dogs inside as well as in their gardens. There are loads of beautiful walks on Exmoor and the coast is quite near too. We had a lovely day at Lynton and Lynmouth and visited Glen Lyn Gorge, beautiful and also family and dog friendly. The closer beaches are mostly stony but we drove a little further down the coast towards Wollacombe which is large and sandy. You should be aware that there are sheep, ponies, deer and goats in the area so be careful before allowing your dogs off lead. Also, as in other areas where there are sheep, it is a good idea to invest in a tick remover!

A good point about the ticks. We have spare tick removers here and, should your dog get one, we are more than willing to show you how to remove it.

“Perfect”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2014

This is our second stay in Rowan Cottage and again it was perfect. Lovely and clean, beautiful location, terrific for the children, everything you could want from a holiday cottage and more. Never get tired of watching the river flow by the bridge, fabulous walks on the doorstep. Great local pubs with food in the village and also close by in Withypool and Winsford. Exmoor is stunning and we will be back

“Excellent, spacious accommodation in fantastic location”

Reviewed 15 May 2014

The accommodation was excellent with spacious bedrooms, lovely sitting room with log burner and fully equipped large kitchen/diner. The walk to the village of Exford is a few minutes along a river path where excellent pubs, shops and facilities can be found. It was lovely to be able to walk from the cottage door to Exmoor National Park. A great weekend and we will be returning.

“Ideal, cosy, dog friendly cottage on edge of village”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2014

Wonderful week, ideal for walks and a short walk from village amenities. Good facilities, warm, clean and well appointed. Adequate bathroom, apart from Exmoor water pressure! Would love to come back again.

“Friendly well equipped in a great location”

Reviewed 26 Apr 2014

Stayed with our 11 month old son and our pony. Have been coming to court farm for a few years and like the improvements that Dave and Michele have made. cottage was spotlessly clean - a little outdated in some areas but not at all an issue for us. Cot was kindly put in for us and high chair was availible for use. Cottage is well equipped with everything you could need for self catering. A 5 minute walk along the river takes you into Exford which has 2 pubs which both do great food, post office and village shop. From court farm lots of places to visit within easy drive. Riding from the farm is straight onto bridle ways and out to moorland. Clean tidy paddocks availible with use of tack / feed room and access to Micheles excellent knowledge on riding routes and places to go! Would and have recommended to family ad friends who have also stayed.

“A lovely short break”

Rowan Cottage was clean and well equiped. The fenced garden was perfect for our large dog. The setting was stunning and everybody was very friendly. We hope to return one day as very good value for money.

“Great Accomodation,Friendly owners and superb location.”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2013

We received a warm welcome from David and Michelle into a well appointed cottage. The location is truly superb in the midst of Exmoors finest countryside, yet only a third of a mile from Exford and it's facilities.Lots to see and do plus the coast only a few miles away. Altogether, a great way to holiday.

“Great location to see somerset”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2013

Nice lodge that served as our base to discover Somerset and Minehead. Super nice host who is willing to do whatever is needed to make your stay pleasant. The lodge was furnished with basics for short term vacation. Only disappoinment is that there were no accessible animals on the farm that the kids could play with. Loved the place and would go again.
