“Keld holiday apartment, Porlock” We have just had a very enjoyable stay in Porlock & Keld was in the perfect location, right in the centre of Porlock with all amenities on the door step, shops/pubs/cafes and lovely walks all just a short stroll away. The apartment is accessed by stone steps upto the front door and then more stairs on entering the apartment, it was fine for us but probably would not be suitable for those with mobility issues or visually impaired. Once inside, Keld is warm & welcoming, clean & tidy and there is plenty of space in all rooms. The kitchen was fully equipped & had everything we needed. The lounge had very comfy sofas to relax on after a day of walking. The bathroom is huge but ideally the apartment would benefit from having another separate toilet, there was 3 of us but I can't imagine having to wait for the loo if six of us stayed there! The shower did not have much pressure & when using the shower there was a very loud noise that occurred each time it was used, a banging sound? We wondered perhaps if there is an airlock in the system?
Overall we were very happy that we chose Keld as our base for our trip to Somerset/ Exmoor & we would stay there again if we visit another time.
The only major disappointment was that the fantastic chip shop "Piggy in the Middle" was closed! The owners had gone on holiday!! But luckily we were directed to The Ship Inn just round the corner and we had an excellent meal there instead.
“Great escape place and location” Met with a lovely welcome gift of wine, chocs and quality crisps, pint of milk in the fridge and tea making stuff. A lovely place for a couple and Porlock is very dog friendly. I enjoyed my stay and would go back there again.
