“Great cottage in stunning Exmoor”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2015

Well equipped cottage with good sized secure garden for dogs (and kids). Lovely location, owners very friendly and helpful. Pubs and afternoon tea within easy walking distance. We would all be more than happy to repeat the experience.

“Perfect get-away”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2015

Lovely well-kept and clean cottage. Warm welcome from the owner. It was just the two of us but plenty of room for more. Wood-burner warms the property very quickly. Kitchen had all cooking utensils you could need and is very spacious. Lovely garden. 5 - 10 minute walk from the village centre through fields so suitable footwear required. There is an alternative route on concrete but it's a bit further. No lights on either route however there is a torch provided in the cottage - don't do what we did and forget to take it - interesting ramble home by mobile phone light. Settings are gorgeous - dark and quiet at night. Easy access to various walks. Highly recommend.

Thank you for the lovely review Liz & Howard. A good point made about the torch - vital for late night walks from Autumn to Spring. Have had to use the mobile phone trick ourselves!

“Wonderful peaceful place in beautiful surroundings.”

As a family with two teenagers we have enjoyed this spacious home. Exmoor is a beautiful area to walk and to make trips. From the house you can make walks as well. In Exford is a shop for basic necessities and two pubs.

“Absolutely Excellent”

If you want a super place to go walking with your dogs.....look no further. Cottages have everything you need and gardens are safe and quiet. Walking and local pubs would be very hard to beat! Owners are also lovely

Thanks Sue & co for a lovely review. You've described the cottage and area perfectly.

“Great House”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2015

Great house in a great farming community. Near a fantastic local village pub. Set in the centre of a rural are ideally suited to walking with the dogs and running and sight seeing.

Thanks Mike for a great review. We should point out that running up some of the hills round here requires you to be as fit as Mike (i.e. very fit!).

“Home from home”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2014

This was our second stay in this cottage and it wont be the last. The cottage is spacious, comfy and very well equiped. A perfect home from home. We stayed with our dog who loves the huge garden and all the space, so much so we had a very sulky border collie when we were packing up to leave! The area is stunning with great walks from the doorstep and in the local area. There is a lovely pub within a 5 minute walk - the Exmoor White Horse Inn - This serves great local beers and is dog friendly too. Dave is really helpful and is on hand if you need any help, advice on the area. We will definitely be back!

“Beautiful cottage in a fab location & lovely friendly people.”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2014

This a fantastic cottage in a quiet location but only a ten min walk to the village shop & pubs. The photo's don't do it justice as both downstairs rooms are extremely spacious. We stayed with our children & 7 dogs with plenty of room for all. There is also a large secure garden. The cottage has everything you need & Dave the owner is on hand with lots of local knowledge & to let you know what's going on to enhance your visit. Highly recommend & we will definately go back!!!

“Superb place to stay - especially with dogs”

Reviewed 24 May 2014

A lovely spot right by the river, lovely, well equipped cottages and safely fenced gardens. Fab walking from the door step and conveniently placed for visiting other parts of Exmoor too. Both pubs in the village do good food and accept dogs. The only holiday I have been on when I wanted to book for next year before I left!

“High quality, spacious accommodation in the heart of Exmoor”

Reviewed 15 May 2014

Our trip was fantastic with excellent walks onto Exmoor National park right from the doorstep. The village of Exford has excellent amenities including 2 good pubs which can be reached by a short walk along a river path. The accommodation was very spacious and well planned out. There was plenty of room for everyone and plenty of room to relax.

“Not wanting to go home !”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

Location amazing, great to just slip into a slower pace of life. Great walks that begin at the door of the cottage. 10 min walk into heart of village which has two excellent pubs which serve good pub food, also well stocked village shop. The cottage was large and very dog friendly, nice secure garden. Everything you could have wanted was there and a lovely view from every window. Has good central heating but owners were more than happy for us to use wood burning stove, fun to toast crumpets ! Hosts were very friendly and very approachable, more than happy to chat but left you to enjoy everything. Have booked already to go back later in year !
