“Clean, comfortable, welcoming and surrounded by charm!”

Reviewed 29 Feb 2016

We really enjoyed our time at Snowdrop cottage, we were welcomed into a charming, and very clean cottage and I was surprised by how well equipped it was. Everything we needed from a cot (for our 1 year old) to a coffee press was provided. There was plenty of wood for the fire and even a little pint of milk in the fridge. The only suggestion I could make is that there would be a fire-guard provided but we were able to put the coffee tables in the way as a makeshift barrier easily enough. (Please note that there is no door between the upstairs and downstairs so if you're staying with a baby, they have to be ok with a little noise when sleeping, but we managed just fine.) The owners were very friendly and our daughter absolutely adored seeing the dogs, horses and chickens on the farms. This made our stay very easy as she was always entertained. We also found the location to be ideal - you're never too far away from the beautiful spots in Exmoor (Tarr steps, Dunster Castle, Lynton) and you're just down the road from a lovely pub (the White Horse Inn) which was showing the six nations rugby and has a selection of over 150 whiskeys (which made for a very happy husband!). All in all, an excellent stay at a very reasonable price!

Thank you for this very comprehensive review. A good point made about the fireguard and we will provide one in future when a baby/young child is resident (for readers of the review Snowdrop is normally sleeps just 2 adults but a cot can be squeezed in). We are also glad you discovered the White Horse whisky collection, an Exmoor attraction that is well known locally!

“Perfect break.”

“Cosy and comfortable, well-situated for walking”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2015

We had a very enjoyable stay in Snowdrop Cottage. It was very cosy and practical and we have already decided that we would like to return sometime in the late autumn or early spring. The hosts were friendly and always there on the couple of occasions we needed to ask them something. The cottage is ideally situated for walking and we are looking forward to exploring Exmoor at different times of the year.

Thank you Barbara and David for a lovely review. We look forward to welcoming you back in the autumn. Exmoor is a great place for walking and there are plenty of other attractions including the wildlife, the coast and, of course, the cream teas!

“A great base in Exmoor”

Another lovely week at Snowdrop cottage over Christmas. Dave & Michelle made us feel very welcome; the cottage was really cosy with central heating and a log burner. The cottage is a great base from which to explore Exmoor whether you're walking, chilling or horse-riding.

“Lovely accomodation in perfect location”

We stayed in this cheery little cottage for a week while bell ringing in the surrounding area and it was wonderful. Peaceful and quiet but close enough to Exford to walk in in the evenings. The owner is very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

“Most enjoyable, comfortable visit. Felt welcomed and well accommodated.”

A beautiful spot with great walks from the front door and dog friendly. The cottage was very comfortable and well appointed with all that one needed for self-catering, including a clothes washing machine. Our second visit and hope we will be back next year.

“A wonderful relaxing week on Exmoor”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2014

My wife, myself and our dog Rosie have just returned from a week spent at Snowdrop cottage. We found the cottage to be perfectly equipped with everything you would need for a week away, the enclosed garden being great for Rosie.Dave and Michele were always on hand to give advice on places to visit etc.Exford is situated centrally on Exmoor with numerous places to visit, pubs and tearooms all nearby plus miles of great walking right on the doorstep. We look forward to many return visits.

“Peaceful, private, great setting.”

Reviewed 18 May 2014

The ideal place for that tranquil holiday. Plenty of space. Dog friendly too. Great pub meals at either of the 2 dog friendly pubs, A riverside walk takes you to the pubs.

“Wonderful location from which to explore Exmoor and the adjoining coast”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2014

This is our third stay at this lovely farm close to Exford. The two of us find Snowdrop Cottage, charming, immaculate, well equipped, and ideal for self catering if required, but there are at least four excellent pubs providing good food a short walk/drive away when we feel lazy! The Binks family, with their dogs and horses, are so welcoming and attentive, but not intrusive, and we find the location totally peaceful and relaxing and a wonderful spot from which to explore Exmoor and the adjoining and spectacular coastline of Somerset and North Devon. We are always looking forward to our next visit.
