“Lovely house, fabulous location” Had a fabulous week, there were 6 adults and a baby, the rooms are very spacious, stunning views from the 2 front bedrooms and kitchen. There was a lovely card and bottle of wine on arrival, a thoughtful touch, thank you Jon. The kitchen was very well equipped too. We loved the location with a 2 minute walk into the town and Porthminster beach. As there were 3 couples/families we had 3 cars, so we paid for 24/7 parking on the station through the council, at £38 and ìs valid for a month. We had 1 small issue the main bathroom toilet bùt Jon sorted it straight away. Just a couple of negatives for us, we had the loft room and the beds were not very comfortable you could realy feel the springs, also could have done with somewhere to hang clothes, we had to use the bunk room. That said we loved it.

“Super stay in Cornwall” Gail was very helpful and couldnt do enough to help. Holiday park was great with a lot of entertainment provided. Accommodation was fairly small and cosy but adequate to use as a base to travel to some great nearby places. First time for us on a holiday park but would definitely come again.

“Unbeatable location in St Ives - Go there!” Really great place with spacious rooms and well equipped kitchen, perfect for self-caterers. Tucked behind the Tate so really close to the centre of St. Ives but just behind all the hustle and bustle so a fabulous retreat. Couldn't have wished for a better location. Sea views from each of the bedrooms and huge bathroom too. Garden a real sun trap if you get bored of the many beaches or galleries (unlikely!).

“Stunning house. And that view!” Chynalls makes the most of its impressive position, with a huge picture window from the second floor living space looking down on the harbour, the Island, and taking in Godrevy lighthouse to the East. I've always loved St Ives, but it had been 12 years since my last visit, so a return was long overview. When our annual yoga break in Zakynthos was cancelled due to Covid, I decided it was time to rectify that. Our group of six absolutely loved the house, especially those of us who bagged the front bedrooms - there can be no better start to the day than sitting up in bed and opening the curtains onto that view. And said picture window upstairs was perfect for our morning sun salutations, again with the view in a starring role. It really couldn't have been nicer. More exercise was 'enjoyed' climbing the steep steps up from the town - yes, there are a lot of them, so it would not suit anyone with mobility issues. Though there is a longer way by road and there are plenty of taxis available in the town. The house is extremely well equipped, very modern and with nice touches such as kitchen basics and spices provided, as well as toiletries. And Rod, who lives next door, is very helpful and obliging - we'd been cold the first night as we couldn't work out the heating controls, but when I called the next morning he was there within two minutes to explain how it worked. My only suggestion would be that a bit more info in the book of notes would avoid him having to do that. There is plenty of parking, and we were able to store our cases in the garage on our last day so that was very convenient. All in all Chynalls was perfect for us and I really hope to return. In fact I could very happily live there.

“Lovely people, wonderful home” I found out about Little Haven from a friend and was told how lovely it was. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful key holder and began our exploration of the accomodation. Every room was lovely, the contrast between the older and newer areas is quite charming. The large kitchen had every possible convenience and utensil. Every room is well appointed, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The outside patio and decking areas offer extended living areas with views over the well kept garden and estuary views beyond. Ample parking is available for several cars within the gated garden. Several local pubs offer good dining and many local ales. A few minutes walk leads to the local railway station from where the picturesque ride into St Ives takes around ten minutes. All in all a superb holiday home and definately one to recommend and, hopefully, revisit.

“Beautiful location” The house was very warm, clean and inviting on arrival with some scones, bread and tea and coffee as an added surprise after a long drive. The house had wonderful views from the lounge and front bedroom. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything from utensils through to dishwasher tables, sponges and tea towels. We have stayed in many holiday rentals where none of these basic items are provided and it was wonderful to have these items already stocked for arrival. We did have a problem connecting with the WiFi but this was quickly rectified by contacting Rachel and this wasn’t an issue throughout the rest of our stay. The only two issues that we had was that we only managed to get parked in a designated parking bay 50% of the time, meaning we had to park on double yellow lines for the rest of the time. As we were out of season we weren’t particularly concerned about getting a parking ticket however during the high season I can imagine this being a problem and possible one that would stop us returning in the high season. The other issue was with the double mattress. It was incredibly uncomfortable, we could feel the springs and each night it felt like we kept rolling into the middle with no support. I would like to add on a positive note, that we had a delightful stay in a wonderful property.

“Fantastic - the best holiday house we've stayed in!” We all loved Fish Street, a great house and the best equipped we have stayed in. Everything you should need is there and it was spotlessly clean. We were even welcomed with some delicious scones, jam and clotted cream! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fish St, just please don't book our week! Ha-Ha

“We have booked again!” We arrived to a beautifully furnished clean and spacious apartment that is well equipped for a family holiday. A basket of goodies on the table was a lovely treat for all to enjoy. Carbis bay beach was wonderful for young and older children with golden sands and a fresh water river that occupied hours of fun. The railway link to St Ives made a trip out for a glass of wine by the harbour and easy option. Cornwall has a lot to offer and many fun places to explore and visit and although we visited a good many we still feel there is so much more to see. Seaview apartment is everything and more that you could wish for, well equipped and a prime location. We loved it so much that we would like to book for the following year.

About St. Ives

St Ives, Cornwall is a seaside town in the far west of the county, north of Penzance and west of Camborne on the coast of the Celtic Sea. Originally a fishing village, today the main draws are the four golden-sand beaches that are located throughout the area. Perfect for surfing, windsurfing, and waterskiing the sheltered coves and pleasant waters are teeming with tourists during the hot summers. The town itself is a collection of gift shops, cafes, and picturesque holiday cottages -- all surrounding the harbour. A maze of narrow streets and alleyways are located around the harbour, and the crescent shaped beaches. During the spring and summer months the streets of St Ives are decorated with brightly coloured flower displays. Complete with stunning vistas at every turn, artists flock to St. Ives to capture its beauty in painting, poetry, and song.

Things to do in St. Ives

The beaches are the main attraction of St. Ives - Portmeor, Porthgwidden, Porthminster, and Harbour Beaches all have distinct characteristics that make them unique, as well as make them each some of the most popular in the Cornwall region. Porthmeor Beach is the main beach in St Ives. It is a level sandy beach that is ideal for families and a favourite of surfers. Porthgwidden is a small but popular beach, with a very good cafe.

Off the beach, explore the Chapel of St. Nicholas, a small structure used for worship for hundreds of years - and a great place for bird watching. Stroll through the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden for a gorgeous display of local flora. Explore ‘downlong' aka Old St. Ives and uncover the wonders of the area throughout the maze of cobblestone streets.

Embrace the artistic history of the town and take an art class or visit one of the dozens of galleries open for business - the Tate Gallery being one of the most popular. Take a ride on the scenic railway to see gorgeous views of St. Ives.

Seagulls Rest late booking

Literally booked the day before we arrived. No problem at all, and Tina was soon in touch with all the information we required. We both really enjoyed our short stay, and would thoroughly recommend both the property and the location. The 'Rest' was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We hope we left it in a good condition, as we'll feel terribly guilty if we didn't!see more

Lovely cottage and location

Tina’s bungalow is beautifully equipped with everything you need including comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. The bungalow is in a lovely setting with a woodland walk to enjoy and plenty of facilities to amuse the children. The site shop can provide the basics. A car is almost essential although there are buses in main season. The timetable changed just before my stay so check if you come by public transport late season. I enjoyed a peaceful stay and loved the wildlife all around. I would be happy to stay again. Thank you Tina for all the trouble you have taken with the cottage.see more

Amazing find

Stayed at this lovely little apartment and it was better than expected. Location alone was perfect, you turn one corner and on the st ives harbour as well as having a door which takes your straight onto porthmoer beach. Pros Location Well equipped WiFi Car parking Bed was so comfy! Cons Bathroom is quite small There was building works going on so was quiet noisy however this is nothing to do with the owner or the apartment itself. I don't know how long the building works will go on for though. If I am ever to return to stives I would without hesitation book to stag here again.see more
Chynalls - St Ives, Brand New 4 Bed Detached House
Fabulous St Ives Stay

We have just returned from a fabulous St Ives stay here at Chynalls. There were 8 of us, 2 families and with the 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms there was plenty of space for us all. The house was exceptionally clean, tidy and modern with towels, soap/shampoo etc all included. Rod also let us use the items in the garage as we pleased: beach trolley, balls, buckets/spades, kayak and body boards. The view over the harbour was beautiful and you could never tire from it. The walk to the shops / beach was 10 mins max but the walk back up had several steps and we got lots of exercise walking up these! There was ample parking at the house and we loved every minute of our stay. There were several beaches nearby, our favourite was Porth Minster beach which was a short walk. White soft sand, little breeze and toilets / beach bar close by. We spent several days here and we so sad to leave! Would highly recommend this place and would definitely return if we were to holiday in St Ives again.see more
