Owner's reply:
Ref: Review : Gaynor Richards, Blaeneau Ffestiniog, Granary 20/2/16 All our central heating controls are set at 7.30am to 9.30am and 04.30 pm to 10.30pm, the same as our own. Any variance is done on request as is the case of the guest as it was for Gaynor Richards when she asked for the heating to come on a 'little earlier'. Informed them a 2kw fan heater was in the hearth to which I was told 'that will do little good'. It was of concern that water pressure seemed lower than first set, hence my return the following day to check. Low pressure would mean the boiler would not light and therefore no heating. I knocked on the door twice, no answer, and so put key in lock when there was a shout from within. Explained why I was there and my suspicions. Checking the water pressure we appeared to be losing water through the pressure valve. Showed Mr?, the partner, how to keep the boiler topped up (check once a day) and left them full access to controls. Two days later the boiler engineer arrived and decided that a part had to be ordered. On entry we both commented how hot and unbearable it was ( my glasses steaming up in the heat). Both guests were in thin singlet and dress with the boiler and fan heater both fully on. The boiler was turned to full power and even though they had been asked to turn off when they went out for the day it was left running. As regards electricity the meter was filled and this is normally sufficient for other families for over a week. They ran out on Tuesday. Clearly they had left the fan heater on full despite being out. Grill on oven works or it does for me and for the guests the following week! As regards entertainment there was no reason if they found the kitchen to small then why not use the large lounge. Initiative is the operative word. The text below is the extract from the email. No mention of being disabled: Thanks for email. Parking is approx 25 meters but you can unload outside cottage Shower head removable from wall Budgie would be acceptable provided not let to fly free Regards Mac Hocking GaynorFeb 10 Hi, Can you please tell me if the parking is close or if at a distance if close parking for loading is allowed? Does the shower head come off the wall for washing with or is it permanently fixed above head height? Are budgies in a cage allowed as the pet as it says pet friendly? Many thanks, Gaynor Outdoor light timed at just over 5 minutes. Being registered disabled myself this is more than sufficient to walk across the courtyard. They make no mention of the 'budgies' which were the biggest I have ever seen. More like small parrots. As for the mess they made this was not cleaned up. I ask was the heat for the birds benefit? Shall be sending a memo to local association highlighting problems of inconsiderate owners with birds. As regards the internet that is a BT problem in not providing faster broadband despite our repeated requests over the last 3 years. Average download speed 2kbps. Not fast enough for streaming but more than adequate for email and internet use. The review the following week only reinforces the adage which says “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.
