“Boomerang visits” How many times can I say what a great little place this is? We've been back here on numerous occasions and at different times of year and the place never disappoints. The pluses for us are; no mobile coverage (but superfast broadband in the cottage area), no traffic (even at peak times), no noisey neighbours (on-site kids playground at the top of the hill), no dogs left howling in the cottages whilst owners walk to the excellent gastro-pub 2 mins away, tasty "home cooked" take-aways from the village shop 2 mins away and countless footpaths to wander the local countryside on. Be mindful that "footpaths" do NOT mean tarmac pavements and that country lanes (without pavements) can be winding (hairpin bends) and steep at times. That's why there are some fantastic views from the road as you drive along the A39. What traffic you do meet tends not to be pushy or inconsiderate. Be prepared for a slower pace of life when you get here and for exceptionally friendly natives.

“A perfect place for a relaxing weekend” It's nearly a month since we've been there and myself and my partner are still talking about our Exmoor experience. Wisteria cottage added to its magic. It was very cosy and clean. Was perfect for 2! I have recommended it to many of my friends! We will be back one day!

“A truly lovely Cosy welcoming place to stay” Very clean and well equipped cottage and as myself and my sister were there for Christmas the cottage had even been decorated which was a lovely touch.Very helpful and friendly owners.Set in a peaceful location in the beautiful Exmoor National Park where there is so much to explore but also within a short drive to the coast and Somerset.Lovely walks from the door of the cottage,with a welcoming pub just a 2 minute walk,we would definitely recommend the Gatehouse and very much look forward to returning there one day.

“Excellent Holiday Home” I stayed in Inglenook for a 5day stay. Lovely period cottage. Log burning stove was a bonus, kept us snuggly warm. Everything we needed for a peaceful escape. Beds are super comfortable. The surrounding area is full of wildlife which is enchanting. I would not hesitate to recommend Inglenook to all my friends. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.

“Cosy Exmoor stay” Had a fantastic time the cottage is the quintessential Exmoor cottage just the most lovely relaxing time. Well equipped and beautifully clean. Lovely evenings spent in front of the fire no tv on just great conversation and a large glass of red. The pub The Black Venus in the village serves excellent home cooked country style food. Probably lovely in the summer but for me to hunker down in the winter is just fab.
