The bright and spacious living room has a cosy log-burning stove, and an impressive tri-fold door that leads to a decking and a large private enclosed garden with a picnic table. There is a well-equipped kitchen/dining room, a generous king-size double bedroom (which can be made into a twin) and a shower-room with a large shower cubicle, a hand-basin & WC.
The beautiful wildlife grounds cover nearly three acres and there are several wild-flower meadows, a wildlife pond, many species of trees and shrubs, a fruit and vegetable garden, loads of birds and butterflies, and a delightful walk up and around Humphrey's Hill with lovely views of Exmoor.
Just two minutes walk from the cottage are The Black Venus Inn which serves award-winning food and real ales; and Challacombe Stores and Post Office, where you can buy a delicious cream tea and home-made cakes. There are amazing walks from the village in every direction and within 5 miles is a charming reservoir, Wistlandpound, with trout fishing and an excellent circular walk.
