Romantic, magical , cottage retreat - Dane cottage,Wincle, Peak District
Amazing!

The cottage is fantastic, it had everything and more than we needed. It is so peaceful, the views are just gorgeous. Cannot recommend highly enough. Of all the holiday rentals we have stayed in, this is without doubt the best and one we hope to return to. … see more
Otter's Retreat
Wonderful stay at Otters Retreat

A friendly and accommodating welcome awaited us from Angela upon our arrival. Well actually, I believe we were welcomed from Nancy the Puppy first! The cottage was just as it appeared on the website pristine cozy warm and very welcoming. Angela had provided us with a home backed tea loaf, butter, eggs, and chocolates to complete the welcome. This was a perfect retreat for our 3 night stay with walks on the doorstep. Bedrooms are spacious with beautiful en-suites boasting wonderful views across the fields and hillside. This is a place you can definitely relax and unwind after a days hiking. There are games books maps and info at hand with even a basket of wool and knitting for you to try out!. Angela is there to answer any queries and help with anything you need. We were without power late one night and it was too late to let her know so we told her the following morning and the electrican was there sorting it out super fast and we were back in business. There’s a brewery and great pub within walking distance but be prepared for the steep hill. A gem of a place and one which I hope to return to one day. You can’t go wrong here. My friend and I loved it. Could not have been better. Thank you Angela and Ian Sorry we didn’t get to meet you Ian. Maybe next time!see more
Luxurious pet-friendly barn with sauna in the Peak District National Park
perfect

Peak District Barn Conversion: a wonderful holiday retreat, stylish and architectural, yet comfy and a real home. We stayed at High Ridge Barn during five days in august, 2018. It is a surprisingly complete and very well designed cottage with plenty of room for eight people; three bathrooms; a very complete kitchen, open plan with dining area with superb views. All a fine combination of fresh and tasteful modern design and functionality with warm features such as sumptuous sofa's, pillows, beautiful oak flooring, luxuriously large and comfortable beds and exquisite decoration. All high end but tastefully done and non-intrusive. The owners are very kind and really made us feel most welcome. In the outside area the views of the wonderful Peak district continue; it allows for perfect breakfasts in the morning sun and al fresco dining. A fine bbq, a sauna, a large terrace, a lawn with the possibility to improve one's golf swings. Walks into the surrounding countryside start at the doorstep. Although we did not bring a pet ourselves, we could see dogs are very welcome, based on e.g. special amenities for them and the enthusiasm the owners displayed in this respect. The house is very clean and contains everything one could wish for. Pleasant surprises were the extremely fast wifi, the continuous hot water supply and details such as boot heating in the entrance/cloakroom. A splendid extra after long autumn and winter walks we imagined. Buxton is nearby, a wonderful town with a.so an opera house an fine independent shops. Furthermore some very nice restaurants(the owners know the area and are happy to inform you about the possibilities). A perfect base to explore and enjoy The Peak District and to relax! We certainly recommend High Ridge Barn to others and plan to come back to it.see more
