Hello Teresa I'm so glad you enjoyed St Ives. I have to confess to being a bit puzzled about the comments about the lack of lighting! No one has ever mentioned this before. However when I was at the cottage today I noticed that two bulbs in the kitchen and the courtyard had gone. Now this is something my lovely housekeeper is normally on top of but she's not infallible. There are plenty of spare bulbs under the kitchen sink and there is a prominent note in the welcome folder asking guests to contact the housekeeper should any bulbs need changing.
Point taken about the kitchen drawer (there is only one that doesn't open as well as it might) - this is being changed in the autumn.
Cornish granite cottages will always have an element of damp because of the mild, moist climate but Figgy Cottage has been fully booked all year round for the past 17 years and many people return year after year so it can't be that bad! There was certainly no hint of smelly drains when I was there today. Again - this is something you could have contacted either me or the housekeeper about at the time and then we could have seen it (or smelt it) for ourselves and done something about it if necessary. It is somewhat difficult to deal with all these niggles you seem to have had if you don't tell us about them at the time.
