“Amazing views” Amazing, clean and very well equipped house. For 6 adults and one 15 month old the house was just perfect. Plenty of space inside and out and a short walk from the local pub/hotel. The bedrooms are very spacious and beds exceptionally comfortable. Although I thought the kitchen might be a little too small, the website actually doesn't do it justice - more than enough space to cook for all the guests. The garden provides great views of the Summer Isles and the snug upstairs was great for sitting with a whiskey while watching the sun go down. Shop nearby for essentials and the beach a 5 minute walk. Will certainly return. Never saw one midge till the day we left but plenty of otters down by the water. Head along the road to the cafe (10 max) for cake or a great bacon roll.
“Stunning” The house and location were perfect. Amazing scenery even in the rain. We enjoyed local walks. A ladder from our garden took us onto the Beach for collecting shells. Stream beside for paddling and climbing over the rocks. Kids had great fun. Spa bath in house lovely after a rainy walk. Lovely sun room to sit in and enjoy the views. House had everything we needed. Lots of games for adults and kids. My son enjoyed playing the piano .
“Nice cottage at the beach” Spend a verry good time in this lovley cottage. The beach is right in front of the house and
our teenage daughters loved to go there for searching shells. There was everything we needed in the house. The beds and furniture are very comfortable and everythink was in
excellent good shape and very clean. We liked the social dining room and the dekking most. The contact to Margaret, the owner, was nice and uncomplicated. Cromarty is a beautiful little village. And we had great weather!!
“Magical with breathtaking views, just perfect for our weekend.” Our experience at Strathpeffer was wonderful. We wanted to do some exploring and follow the Pictish trail. We did all of that and much more. The early winter in mid November gave us sunshine and sparkling frost every day and was just beautiful. We met the friendly, welcoming Ross family as well as Caruso, the Highland Bull and his lovely family. I work as an artist and now have many sketches and photographs to work with from this beautiful area. It is central for exploring around northern Scotland from Ulapool to Dunrobin Castle and beyond. The Scottish Victorian village of Strathpeffer with it's interesting history is also worth coming back to see again in the season when it's visitor attractions will be open. We will certainly be returning to this peaceful retreat in the Highlands.
