From the owner

Welcome to our apartment in Notting Hill. This is very much a loved home full of character and is light, airy and comfortable, a newly refurbished property over two floors (820 square feet) with great facilities, a home from home.

The apartment is in on the first and second (top) floor of a purpose built 1970's, three story building. The exterior of the building is not impressive, but the interior is quite the opposite! A convenient four minute walk to the bustling Portobello Road where the famous Portobello Antiques Market takes place on Saturdays, the daily open air market (where you can buy fresh flowers and lovely fruit and vegetables), and plenty of great restaurants and cafés. The nearest small supermarkets for essentials are a 4 minute walk away, and Westfield shopping mall (Europe's largest) is a 10 minute bus ride.

Ladbroke Grove Underground station (our nearest) is only 4 minutes walk away, and there's a frequent bus service within a 3 minute walk that takes you to Oxford Street and the West End, (London's theatre district). Of course, we have a local taxi company that can take you anywhere at the drop of a hat and you can use your Uber app here too.

A nearby bus service will take you to the famous City of Oxford in only one hour.

The entry floor level of the apartment has two bedrooms, one with full size single bunk beds and the other with a full size single and full size bunk beds. There's a separate bathroom with shower and a WC.

The top floor has an open living, dining and kitchen space, it has a well equipped hi spec kitchen with new appliances and a beautiful long antique pine farmhouse kitchen table. There is also a Stokke highchair should you need it. There's a state of the art Samsung flat screen TV with DVD and Netflix and Amazon Prime plus many other channels, also an extensive collection of DVD's for those “stay at home” days when you're walked off your feet) and of course fast fibre Wi-Fi.

The master bedroom has a King-size bed and has a family bathroom adjacent with a double-ended bath and powerful shower over it. There is also a single futon (chair / bed) in this room.

The house is incredibly child friendly, we know how difficult it is to travel with children and slip quickly into a routine when you arrive somewhere new. We have plenty of books and toys and there are baby monitors in the bedrooms should you need them, we also have a travel cot if required which can be placed in any bedroom. If you're traveling with children you won't need to bring a thing other than their favourite snuggly! We can also provide you with a reliable babysitting service if desired.

Towels and linen are included and the apartment is spotlessly cleaned before each rental. Additional linen is available by arrangement and maid service during the rental period can be provided at guests' own cost. I live just around the corner and am on hand to deal with any emergencies and to give advice on places to visit and restaurants etc.

We provide a file filled with useful information so you can quickly get to grips with where everything is, not only in the property but our preferred restaurants and services in the area and there are also plenty of travel and guide books to browse.

The accommodation is enormously flexible, the beds are of very high quality, and so are the showers, guests often write appreciative notes about these. All the bedrooms are quietly appointed, so there should be little to disturb your sleep.

For those of you who crave exercise there's a gym in the same street and another 2 streets away and temporary membership can be arranged.

For those with buggies please note there is no lift, there are 3 sets of 8 stairs.

The apartment is a beautiful, practical and peaceful place to escape and enjoy London's hustle and bustle; our guests have told us that they enjoyed ' the luxury of a hotel whilst feeling a part of London life.'

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Katie (the owner) a message.

If Katie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
