Barley lodge is situated in a quiet rural location surrounded by fields and only 7 miles from Chester City Centre. Locate on the outskirts of Kelsall Village which has several excellent Pubs / restaurants with essential shops and post office.

Barley Lodge will provide home from home comfort but without the stresses of everyday life. Perfect for a quick get away to recharge those batteries or for a base to explore the many delights that Cheshire and the North West has to offer.

Relax on the Decking with a glass of the locally brewed Weetwood Ale watching the cows & sheep grazing in the field or for those winter nights in the cosy living room with a roaring fire in the log burning stove.

Barley Lodge is fitted out to a high standard with a well equipped modern kitchen. Open plan living/Dining area . Free internet access with Wi-fi, Smart TV, FreeSat and FreeView to keep you fully connected if you wish.

A large luxury bathroom with a spacious walk in shower or relax in the full sized bath.

Included in the rental charges are heating, electricity and we also provide a good supply of logs and kindling. Further logs can be purchased as required.

For those staying a while Laundry services can be provided by a local company who pick up and deliver or there is washing machine available in a separate out building. We can also provide bike storage if you want to explore Cheshire by bike.

Cot and High Chair available please specify on booking.

Private patio and decking area with seating and BBQ which overlooks the adjoining fields which is home to the black welsh mountain sheep.

Well behaved pets welcome, why not bring your horse or pony on holiday with you, stabling available, please contact owner for details. The area provides great walking or riding country.

The village also has a good quality local supermarket, prize winning butchers and a chemist.

Weetwood Ales - Kelsals very own micro brewery, is situated next door, sampling of their ales is recommended and purchases can be made from the brewery during working times.

A car is really essential although there are lots of walks from here. The local rail station at Mouldsworth is on the Manchester - Chester line.

“Phantastic Cottage”

Definetely the best Holiday home we every stayed at. Spacious, could not be cleaner, bedlinnen to die for, warm and cosy. Only the best was used to equip this Cottage. 6 out of 5 stars. Would stay there any time again.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. Lovely and impeccably clean, well equippedand spacious, very high quality fittings and bedlinnen to die for. We all really loved it and any place to stay at during our holidays afterwards would lose out against this amazing cottage.

Great holiday. The property was in a quiet location and was equipped with everything you would need including fuel for the log burner. It was close to the town of Chester and Chester Zoo. Would definately visit property again as we didn't get a chance to see everything. Excellent property and friendly owners.

“Barley 'Rises' to our Expectations”

Stayed here for half term with my wife, three daughters and Rosie our dog. Excellent location close to everything we came for; Chester Zoo, Chester, Cheshire Oaks, Liverpool, North Wales and more. Ideal home from home escape with everything we needed. Kay was very welcoming and on hand if needed. Great to see some of the local wildlife on the decking; wild birds, squirrel and the family Labrador. Will definitely be back for a Christmas break, hopefully. Thoroughly recommended.

“Beautiful, relaxing and friendly.”

My daughter and I spent wonderfully relaxing long weekend at Barley Rise Lodge. The lodge is of a very high quality, beautifully furnished and with everything you need for a long or short stay. Set on a small holding with a horse, sheep, chickens and lovely dog, with views across the surrounding fields, it is a lovely place to just relax but close enough to bigger towns and cities and their attractions. Kay, the owner was very friendly and accommodating, especially when i asked for an extra day.

How do damage deposits work?

If Kay (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
