Gateway Cottages brings you a stunning, two-bedroomed cottage with amazing panoramic views of Stirling Castle, National Wallace Monument and the Ochil hills situated near to a working arable and pedigree beef farm, on the edge of the historic city of Stirling. Our location is perfect for walkers, shoppers, birdwatchers, golfers, historians and families of all ages.

Please contact me before booking to confirm availability etc. if your dates are unavailable, please check out my new cottage Partridge Cottage, where I have more dates available.

It provides a convenient base from which you can explore the surrounding area such as the Blairdrummond Safari Park, local farm shops and the many historic buildings of Stirling. In addition it is ideally located to enable you to go on day trips to Loch Lomond, the Trossachs (Scotland's first National Park), Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and St Andrews either by car or train from the local train station (approx. 2 miles away).

Stirling is the centre of Scotland where Highland mountains and lochs meet the lowland cities. It is often known as “The Gateway to the Highlands”, due to its historic strategic position. The city of Stirling is only a few minutes' drive away where trendy shops in the Thistles Shopping Centre combine with the heritage of Stirling Castle and the Old Town.

The property is also perfectly suited for the active holidaymaker with excellent sporting facilities at the Peak sports village (incorporating an indoor swimming pool and ice rink), and the National Tennis Centre at Stirling University, all within a few miles of the cottage.

The cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest standard allowing you to relax and enjoy your surroundings and holiday to the fullest. All bedding, towels, electricity, central heating, sample toiletries, a small supply of domestic goods (toilet rolls, dishwasher powder, washing-up liquid etc.) & unlimited Wi-Fi are included in the price. In winter a starter pack of wood is available for the wood-burning stove, with further wood available to be purchased.

A fresh flower arrangement and a small complimentary basket will be awaiting you on arrival along with tea/coffee and a selection of home made baking.

For the young at heart a guided tour of our farm is available on request, where children can visit our prize winning herd of pedigree Limousin cattle and see the day to day running of a working farm, however they must be supervised at all times by an adult when on the farm.

Oil fired central heating with under floor heating in living area and adjustable radiators with thermostats in bedrooms.

Travel cot and high chair are available on request.

One well behaved pet by arrangement (to be kept in the living area of the cottage).

This comprises a large open plan fitted kitchen, dining and living area, with triple bi-fold doors that open out on to a private garden patio with spectacular views.

The lounge part is equipped with the following:

• 3-seater leather sofa bed.

• 2-seater leather sofa.

• Hwam wood burning stove.

• LG smart 42” LED 3D Television with digital Freeview channels, built in Wi-Fi and Netflix film channel.

• LG Blu-ray DVD player.

• Sony CD player with DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and iPad/iPod docking facilities.

• Wii Games console and a selection of games.

• Selection of games, books, DVD's, local maps and plenty of tourist information.

The kitchen part is fully equipped with modern appliances that include:

• Integrated AEG fridge

• Integrated AEG freezer

• Integrated AEG slim dishwasher

• AEG Microwave/Grill

• AEG Ceramic Hob

• AEG Oven/Grill

• Dualit 4 slice Toaster and Kettle

• Expresso coffee maker – coffee not supplied

In between the kitchen and lounge area is the dining table able to seat 6 persons.


• These both have zip and link beds, which can be made up as either singles or converted in to super-king size on your request.

• One bedside table is provided if beds are made up as twins, two bedside tables are provided if beds are made up as super-kings.

• Radio alarm clocks are available in both bedrooms.

• One bedroom has a fully fitted wardrobe with excellent storage facilities; the other has ample storage in a freestanding wardrobe and chest of drawers.

• A combi TV/DVD is also available to be located in the bedroom of your choice.

• All windows in the bedrooms have blackout curtains; in addition the south facing windows have blackout roman blinds.

• Hairdryers in each room.

Stirling Park and Ride bus service is located at the farm road end (approximately one mile away), which gives you access in to Stirling City Centre and Railway Station for days out further afield.

The cottage was very impressive. We didn't visit any attractions during our stay as we were in Scotland preparing for our daughters wedding. After each busy day we were able to enjoy the home from home feel that the cottage provided. The special little touches left for us by Wendy made the experience very pleasurable. We will definitely return and have told all our friends about our little find. Thank you for letting us share your cottage.

This house is just a few minutes from everything you need, yet tucked away up a country lane with beautiful views in every direction. The owners left us lots of treats and the house itself was 1st class! No expense has been spared on the furnishings. The main living area is tiled with nice warm underfloor heating. The rooms are warm, clean and cosy and the decor is amazing throughout. There is a TV, DVD played with DVD's to choose from. A Wii with plenty of games and controls, and a shelf full of books in case you fancy a read. The local city of Stirling has lots of historic attractions, and we were able to travel to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Falkirk, all within 30 mins. We travelled 2hrs to Fort William, up through the West Highland Way (including Glencoe - which you MUST see!!) and saw some of the most amazing scenery on earth. Everything is close. The Scottish people are extremely friendly, and we found both this house and the various things we purchased generally, to be extremely good value for money. We have already begun recommending this property and part of Scotland to our friends. You will NOT be disappointed!

This cottage was one in a million, We have never stayed in such a beautiful homely luxurious loved cottage. Wendy And Ian are such lovely helpful kind people, nothing was too much trouble, Wendy had thought of every lovely little touch possible. They invited us to come and see there calves that had not long been born on the farm, this was a wonderful experience for us all especially as my partners daughter was staying with us. The view was stunning, yet local amenities near by, supermarket, resturants, swimming pool............... We will return to Mallard cottage soon.

Being located on a quiet road, only mnutes from a main traffic circle, gave us quick, easy and unparalleled access to all the site seeing we planned during our stay. The cottage was bright and airy and the fresh home made scones that were delivered, out of the oven, upon our arrival were terrific. We spent very relaxing evenings on th deck, watching the sun setting behnid the Wallace Monument.

“The best holiday rental property we have ever stayed in!”

We were delighted with this beautiful cottage let. set in beautiful surroundings close to the family farm. Wendy had thought of everything. We were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack, including an Easter egg! The cottage was extremely spacious, clean and had every modern convenience. It was extremely well decorated and the kitchen facilities were excellent. Its location makes it ideal for those who want to tour the Trossachs, St Andrews, Loch Lomond and Stirling City itself. We have a list of places to visit the next time we go. The price of the property was great value for money, we were so comfortable with every facility provided, indeed if the weather had been wet, we would have been more than happy to remain indoors, as there were plenty of books to read,games to play and a supply of DVDs. All in all the best self catering accommodation we have booked in the UK and we have already made a reservation for next Easter!

Wendy and Ian were the perfect hosts. The baked scones shortly after our arrival were so yummy. This cottage was refurbished with love and care. Everything a traveler would want in a home away from home is here. The bed was so comfortable, it made it very hard to get out of every morning. The beautiful views of Stirling Castle and the William Wallace Memorial were awesome, especially when they are lit at night. After a long day of sight seeing, this cottage was paradise to return to. It is so homey and comfortable where you can put your feet up, watch TV, surf the net with the WiFi provided or listen to music. Many times we just stared out the window at the beautiful view. We cannot wait to return and tell all of our friends about this oasis in the country. Do not hesitate to rent this beautiful cottage, you will love every minute of it.

This cottage was amazing the breathtaking views, the comfort and cleanliness of the home was better than any 5 star Four Seasons Hotel I have stayed in. It had everything to make this one of my best vacations in Scotland ever!!! Peaceful and away from hotels where everything is cookie cutter. Wendy and Ian are the most gracious hosts. I have booked my trip for next year with them again. SOOOOO now I guess the secret is out! BOOK now you won't regret it.
