“HOME FROM HOME”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2013

What a little gem. We had a very comfortable stay here; everything you could think of was provided even down to a cafetiere and a biscuit tin. There was an extremely well equiped kitchen and everything was spotless. The property was in a very convenient location being only a few yards from the beach and 5+ minutes walk to the town, harbour, tram, main bus stop etc. The owners were very helpful and friendly and there were fresh flowers on the table and fresh fruit and a tea tray including a packet of biscuits in the kitchen, which was a lovely touch. There is so much to do in Seaton and I would highly recommend this property and Seaton.

“Mother of the Groom, and family, wedding base!”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2013

Confused by the title? Don't be. When my eldest son and his lovely fiancée announced that they were going to be holding their wedding in the Branscombe area of glorious East Devon, I knew that accommodation for the event would have to be flexible enough for all those last minute 'Mum' request. Already knowing the Seaton area and it's local facilities I decided to choose a self-catering venue. Having searched the web I came across 'Carisbrooke'. The reviews read well so decided this was the place. The family and I were not disappointed! Allistair and Zoe are a lovely couple who have put a lot of thought into the accommodation, of which lots of good points are already mentioned in the guest book and reviews. Carisbrooke is truly a 'Home from Home' and more. Even my eight year old Grandson requested sleepovers he liked the place so much! If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is relaxing, well located for the town, beach and pleasant strolls in the evening; the harbour and river at sunset are wonderful, then you really can't go wrong. Don't deliberate about booking Carisbrooke, DO IT! Now where is my 2014 diary so I can book next years break? ..

“Very comfortable accomodation, with home from home feel.”

Everything has been thought of by the hosts, including tea, coffee, milk, etc. handy if you arrive late and miss the shops. Well equipped kitchen with butler sink, dishwasher, range cooker, cookware, utensils, etc. Utility room with a washing machine a hotel would be proud of. The lounge is comfortably furnished with 2 leather sofas and dining table at the end of the room. Wi-fi connection is provided, so take your laptop. The sea front is about 1 minutes amble, and the ice-cream kiosk is near. The property is within easy strolling distance to Axmouth harbour and Seaton town centre. The recently built Tesco is within easy reach and the store does not impinge on the outlook of the property. Ideally situated for all local venues and coastal towns and scenery the property features a carport at the side making loading and unloading cars a doddle. Our second stay here and not our last.

Fantastic , lovely warm, cosy bungalow very comfortable. Hosts provided many little extras including a 5% discount for repeat booking. Very thoughtful. Position could not be better. We hope to return next year.

“Everything we needed for a warm and very comfortable stay.”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

Zoe and Alistair gave us a warm welcome on a very cold day! The bungalow was very warm and comfortable and we appreciated the flowers and fruit to welcome us. We were walking the coastal path from Exmouth to Lyme Regis over the week and the property was ideally placed and offered all the comfort and hot baths we needed to ease our tired bodies! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equiped. The weather was the first dry week of the year but the temperatures were icy so we needed to be cosy when we returned from our days walking. Seaton had all the shopping we required and more. We would recommend Carisbroke.

“just what the doctor ordered!!”

Definately all of its 4 stars rating. Home from Home. Plus all the extras provided by Zoe and Alistair ( the owners) even crackers and a real xmas tree - well catered for - Thank you. Off road parking a bonus too. 2 minute walk to the prom and only five to the shops. Lovely place to stay - try it and see, you wont be disappointed! We loved it - really relaxing.

“Home from Home by the Sea”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2012

Excellent accommodation and a personal welcome from the owners. The flowers and fruit in the 'welcome pack' were much appreciated. A very comfortable and well equipped property just a few yards from the seafront. Lovely short walks by the sea to the harbour or town centre. The Seaton Tramway a Tesco's, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Fish & Chip Restaurants are all only a short easy walk away. Buses to Exeter stop at the end of the street or travel the Jurassic Coast route to Lyme Regis and beyond.

The Carisbrooke is a spacious, very clean and well equipped bungalow. Off road parking is definately an added bonus. It is ideally situated with the beach and promenade just a few minutes walk away. We would recommend the Seaton Tram for visiting Colyton and Colyford. We highly recommend the cafe at Seaton Hole for freshly prepared light meals, sandwiches and delicious cakes, all very reasonably priced. You can join the coastal path from here to Beer, a very pleasant and not too strenuous walk or if you are feeling energetic continue on the coastal path to Branscombe and take a well earned pint in the Mason Arms! Sidmouth and Lyme Regis both a short drive away make for a worthwhile visit. We have stayed at Carisbrooke on two separate occasions and have not been disappointed. Zoe and Alistair make their visitors very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Our last stay was at Easter and we were left hot cross buns and chocolate Lindt Easter Bunnies in addition to the pint of milk, biscuits and fresh flowers. My elderly Mum (90) who has rhuematoid arthritis did struggle with the height of the step leading up to the front door which is very steep but that is my only negative comment and is obviously not a problem for us when it is just the two of us. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Carisbrook and look forward to our next visit there.

“Lovely house, great position and a life saver !!”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2012

We booked Carisbrooke for 3 weeks at very short notice in March 2011 as we had been left homeless between houses. Zoe & Allistair were excellent to deal with and most accomodating, making what could have been a difficult situation into a real pleasure. Carisbrooke is a very short walk to the seafront and we felt very much at home for our stay - a clean and comfortable home from home.
