From the owner

'Fossils Reach' is situated on a quiet part of the holiday park. It's not overlooked, and has a grassed area to the front with sea glimpses viewed through the trees. Local wildlife includes rabbits, foxes, and the occasional red squirrel! Bird watching friends tell of a variety of species here, too. We provide free superfast broadband, and will accommodate up to 2 dogs (by negotiation).

'Fossils Reach' is less than 100 metres from the coastal path that leads down to the massive sandy beach, completely unspoiled, and fronting the fossil filled cliffs. There are even dinosaur trace fossils to be found in the sand! This beach is dog friendly all year round and an excellent spot for budding palaeontologists!

We provide all linens, towels, and throws that you might need, and there will be tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and biscuits, for your arrival.

The beds are made up ready for your arrival with fresh duvets, pillow cases and linen. Extra throws are provided too.

'Fossils Reach' is a brick built, double glazed, contemporary furnished holiday chalet .The open plan lounge/kitchen/diner is furnished with a two seater sofa, a two seater sofa bed, a dining table with four chairs.

The fitted kitchen has a full size cooker, fridge, microwave oven, and is fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The modern tiled bathroom has an electric shower and the chalet is fitted with electric radiators.

Bedroom 1 has a full size double bed with memory foam mattress and pillows.

Bedroom 2 has twin bunk beds with memory foam mattress toppers and pillows.

We can also provide a travel cot, high chair, baby bath, and a baby gate on request.

The chalet will comfortably fit 4 people and a 5th can be accommodated on a sofa bed (on request). We also have a second chalet, "Fossils Retreat" that is immediately next door, and that caters for up to 4 guests so a larger party can all stay with us.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

Although there are no facilities on the holiday park, and it is just a short walk to the lovely seaside town of Sandown with all the amenities and facilities that you may need.

Fossils Reach is an ideal base to explore the Island either by car or public transport. There is a bus stop with a regular service which is just outside the park entrance.

It is also an ideal base for a walking or cycling holiday, with miles of Island off road footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways.

A very warm welcome to Fossils Reach! We love the outdoor life and being surrounded by nature, and trust that a holiday here will inspire you too. The Barkers aim to provide a home from home for you. One of our priorities has been to install superfast broadband in all our chalets for our guests. Our chalet is dog friendly, but please just let us know that you would like to bring your best friend. We look forward to welcoming you to Fossils Reach, and as we live in nearby Godshill, we will be available to help and advise during your stay. Access to the chalet is by key / key box, so you let yourself in, no need to arrange with us. Diane and Ian Barker.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Diane (the owner) a message.

If Diane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
