Very Good

“Excellent Break”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2017

A very comfortable and well appointed property in a tranquil location, you even get your own orchard! The very friendly owners were unobtrusive but on hand if you needed them, they also supplied a very generous pack of welcome goodies. The property is well positioned to visit places of interest, including Chartwell, Knole House and Ightham Moat. There is also a very good local hostelry just a few minutes walk away serving good local beers and fine food. All in all a great place to stay, highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind appraisal. Hope we can welcome you again some time x

“Great hosts and beautiful Kent countryside”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2017

You definitely need a car, but once there we found the cottage perfect for us. The surrounding countryside is lovely with great views from the old pear orchard. Steve and Rita, our hosts, were friendly and helpful even letting us loose in their vegetable patch. A great holiday

Owner's reply: Sorry it’s taken so long to respond! Somehow your review escaped into the ether! Thanks very much for your lovely review. We truly hope to be able to welcome you back some day.

Loved the cottage. Everything we needed. Rita and Steve both super friendly and helpful. Peaceful area. Great local pub. Will definitely book again.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much! Look forward to welcoming you back.

“Relaxing Autumn Break”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2016

Although this is near major roads so you have easy access it's tucked right away in the country side in a lovely little village with a pub that does delicious food. The cottage has everything you need for self catering, plus a lovely shower, gas central heating and a huge round bed! (It's very low so not good for those with mobility problems) It was a lovely thought to have the hamper food and wine when we arrived. Thank you. It's a great base for exploring right down to hastings etc (lovely new pier area) and we found some pretty places along the way. Only downside was even though it's a cottage which we thought was just ours we had an upstairs neighbour in the loft area which even if quiet you can hear them. I understand it's not let out alot but was a shame as it was the whole time we were there. Overall it was good value for money and a lovely little find.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your review. The room above is hardly ever used - we're so sorry you could hear noise from above. We don't let it - it's only ever friends or family. Hope to see you again.
