In the warmer months you can enjoy the sun room and courtyard garden, with outdoor table and chairs, and BBQ.

Beyond the kitchen is the bathroom, with a large rainfall shower bath.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has a luxurious superking size bed with handmade British mattress, where you can enjoy a long lazy lie in watching the wall-mounted smart TV. The second bedroom has a double bed and there are two standard size single beds in the third bedroom, set up to create the perfect den for two children.

The house is presented beautifully - with attention to detail throughout.

A highchair, travel cot and stairgate are provided. One pet is welcome – please contact us to discuss your pet needs.

Please note that owing to the age of the cottage, the bathroom is on the ground floor, and the stairs are relatively steep with a rope handrail so may not be suitable for those with mobility problems.

Location description from owner

The England region

Stade Cottage is the perfect base for those keen to explore the local area, which has so much to offer – from beautiful coastal scenery, to lots of family attractions and busy seaside town centres.

Situated just a minutes walk to the gorgeous Hythe seafront, with its lovely promenade guaranteed to blow away the cobwebs - and less than 10 minutes’ walk into Hythe town centre, with its vibrant, busy High Street offering an array of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. The Royal Military Canal runs through Hythe and is a few minutes’ walk from Stade Cottage – it makes for a beautiful alternative to the sea front.

Hythe

Stade Cottage is in a lovely residential area spanning back from Hythe seafront.

There are plenty of family friendly attractions for those looking to keep the children entertained: The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, opened in 1928 is one of Kent’s top attractions, along with Port Lympne Zoo – both offering fantastic days out.

Just 5 miles away is Dymchurch, a very family friendly seaside resort with a great little funfair suitable for the younger children - a real hidden gem are the glorious sandy beaches of Dymchurch and St Marys Bay. Simply stunning, and often very quiet, even in the summer. A further 12 miles along the coast is the famous sandy beaches of Camber Sands.

If you fancy a day out with a difference, visit Dungeness - an important ecological site as well as one of the largest expanses of shingle in Europe. A remarkable variety of wildlife live at Dungeness!

Less than 30 minutes by car is the Ashford McArthur Glen Designer Outlet offering fantastic discounts on great brands, including Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie & Fitch and Superdry.

There are several quintessential Kent towns well worth a visit slightly further afield from Hythe - Rye is stunning, with its meandering cobbled streets and lovely shops and Tenterden makes for a wonderful afternoon out.

Hythe itself has plenty of eateries to suit all tastes - there are several tea shops and cafes serving great coffee and good food - Gingers Kitchen is particularly good, and just a 5 minute walk from the house. For a great meal out, The Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant is 2 minutes from the house and very well rated. The Hythe Brasserie is perfect for a special occasion, as is The Hythe Imperial Hotel or you could try Coppers or Thailand Tom for good Asian cuisine. There are also plenty of good pubs around serving cold beer and good food!

Hythe is a 10 minute drive from the M20 motorway at junction 11, giving you quick and easy access to the whole of the Kent, and up towards the M25 and London.

Sandling Station is 2.5 miles from Stade Cottage offering a direct line into London Charing Cross. Folkestone Central Station takes you to London St Pancreas on a direct line in less than an hour.

Ashford International Station is the Kent home to the Eurostar, and a mere 20 minutes drive from Stade Cottage - so enjoying a day out in France is possible too!

You don't need a car to enjoy a wonderful holiday here, as there is plenty to explore on foot and by public transport.

“Mrs”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2016

Lovely cottage in a superb location, literally one minute from the beautiful beach at Hythe. The cottage is very attractively decorated, retaining much of the 'fishermans' character and it is well equipped for a relaxing holiday. The owner is really friendly and helpful, she also left us a lovely welcome gift. We had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend this one.

“Family break”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2016

We have fond memories of the Kent coast and wanted a base for 3 generations and a dog to explore and relax. The location is only a short walk from a pebble beach- slightly further to a dog friendly beach. High Street and all ameneties easily accessible. Parking was busy on a lovely sunny weekend. House- other reviews have mentioned the steep stairs and downstairs bathroom. We all coped fine and loved the character and the decor. The house is well equipped and rooms spacious and comfortable. Highlights: playing on the nearby beach; visiting sandy beach nr Dymchurch; Railway; local shops/restaurants and park. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review Rita, it was a pleasure to host you and your family. You're welcome back anytime!
