Location description from owner

The England region

Emsworth

Emsworth is on the West Sussex and Hampshire border, and is midway between the cathedral city of Chichester and historic Portsmouth with its naval dockyard home to HMS Victory. It is a popular town with sailors, walkers and naturalists. The town has a long history with oyster fishing and boat building and still boasts traditional shipwrights and chandeliers. The attractive streets are lined with a range of architectural styles and a walk around the town gives a real feel for its history along with offering superb harbour views. The Sussex border path affords a beautiful outlook across the Chichester Harbour area. To the west Chichester Harbour merges with Langstone Harbour and the walk around the coastline towards the pretty village of Langstone is particularly picturesque. Heading south from the property, Thorney Island projects out into this natural harbour and taking the coastal path around the island will afford some wonderful views.Chichester Festival Theatre - 20 minsFishbourne Roman Palace - 10 minsWest Wittering Beach - 30 minsHayling Island - 20 minsGoodwood Racecourse & Motor Circuit - 30 mins - home of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Goodwood Revival, Glorious Goodwood and many more events throughout the yearFat Olives - www.fatolives.co.uk36 On The Quay - www.36onthequay.co.uk

“Perfect seaside holiday break.”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2013

We stayed at this amazing stilted cabin by the sea in July 2012. The place is delightfully quirky. It is one of a community of box cabins, set about a central green and right next to the harbour. Ducks roam about and it is perfect for a run about and games in the sunshine. You can park your car right up underneath the cabin. Inside, there is a clever "utility" area with a washing machine/drier and lots of storage space for wellies, wetsuits etc. Up some little stairs and you have a lovely family room with sofas and a lovely clean, tidy, well equipped kitchen. Most critically, there is a dishwasher. There is also a bathroom with an overhead shower and two bedrooms. The living room and the master bedroom have balconies. The plave is immaculate and exceptionally well organised. The harbour is just a 5 minute walk away and the cabin looks right out across the bay. Our four children loved wandering down with a bucket and looking for crabs and treasures. There is plenty to do. The pretty village of Emsworth is a 10 minute walk through the boatyard and has much to offer. We heartily recommend the local ice-cream shop! There are many beautiful beaches to visit - great expanses of white sand. It is exquisite in the sunshine. We particularly loved west Wittering. The Isle of Weight is also a great day trip by ferry. I would have no hesitation in recommending the property for a holiday break. Our experience was overwhelmingly positive.

Thank you!

'The box' as it is known is surprisingly spacious. Right next to see. Amazing beeches nearby. Emsworth is a lovely village within walking distance.
