“Excellent Location, Excellent Service” We stayed here for 2 nights whilst moving our daughter out of Uni accommodation. From the initial enquiry to the end of our stay the owners were very efficient and very friendly. The apartment is lovely has great views and the bonus of secure parking. Very well placed for all that Portsmouth has to offer. We will definitely stay here again.
“Excellent location for a holiday in Portsmouth and Southsea” This house is perfectly placed to visit Portsmouth being so close to Gunwharf Quays and is easy walking distance to Clarence Pier and the funfair at Southsea. The hovertravel port at Clarence Pier gives easy access, by foot, to Ryde on the Isle of Wight too. There is also a ferry port to Fishbourne right around the corner from the house if you want to take the car onto the island too.
The walk into the city centre isn't too bad either for the more energetic, and same can be said of the further seafront at Southsea to South Pier. We were able to leave the car completely for the week, which is a nice change from many holiday rentals, which can often be too far away from the seafront or attractions. It also saves paying parking fees, which can quickly mount up.
The house itself is comfortable with a nice private garden. The owner gave us a warm welcome and was kind enough to show us the short cuts through the estate. The estate is very quiet despite the proximity of the Gunwarf and the Ferry port.
The owner is currently making a few improvements to furniture and decor which will really help the house as in a couple of places it looks a little tired and in need if the upcoming improvements. The kitchen could be a little better equipped, but we managed OK, just don't attempt to cook a 3 course meal.
We really appreciated the extra touches of a bottle of milk, bottled water, fruit, and tea and coffee.
Overall this is nice holiday let and is recommended.
“A weekend to remember and one to be repeated!” Booked this apartment to celebrate a special Birthday with 3 generations of family. It looked lovely on the internet but when we got there it was even better! Very spacious, well equipped and luxuriously furnished. We parked the cars and didn't need them again, we could walk to the nearby shops and sea front. We had a lovely day at the dockyard and would thoroughly recommend the "water margin" Chinese buffet. There was a good selection of shops near the Spinnaker Tower which were all within walking distance. The milk and chocolates left by the owner were a lovely touch. Would really consider returning but maybe for longer! A very comfortable stay.
“Central City Location with all the usual asociated pluses (& minuses!).” This apartment is situated a few minutes walk from Southsea Common on a road junction opposite a pub and a Co-op convenience store, so these essential amenities are effectively on-site. Most of the sights of Portsmouth are walkable with ease in around 15 minutes; some such as Portsmouth Museum, or IoW hovercraft are closer. Unfortunately this great location means it can get noisy both from the road and from adjoining flats, many of which appear to be student lets. The flat itself has two good sized bedrooms, each with a comfortable double bed and clothes storage. There is a decent sized living room with sitting and eating areas sufficient for four and a large TV with DVD player, and a WiFi internet connection which is fast and stable. The all-electric kitchen is spacious and has most things you need to self-cater (though a couple of items in the inventory were well past their best) and with some omissions, e.g. no egg cups or Pyrex bowls. A private parking space permit is provided though the allocated space is best suited to vehicles no larger than family hatchback size. Also, being ungated, trespassers ignoring the “Private “ signs are a problem - we had an altercation with one of these who parked in our allocated space during our stay. The owner, who is very welcoming and informative, met us on arrival and gave a comprehensive tour of how everything works as well as a lot of information regarding the attractions of the area.
For its convenient location and helpful host, I rate Lauralee House as excellent, but after a day's sightseeing a tranquil location to rest up it is not.
“Excellent place in an excellent location managed in excellent way!” We booked this very nice property and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of accomodations that situated in Gun Wharf, the best location in Portsmouth. The reception upon arrival was very profissional and we really enjoyed our stay - look forward to coming again. :)
“Beautiful house, great hospitality from owners” Great location, close to the Kings Theatre were we had our annual Empower Conference. Close to the seafront and great shops on Palmerston Road.
Steve and Malisa let our guests have the run of their beautiful house and made them feel at home.
“Fantastic location and excellent apartment” Stayed here over half term with family. Very comfortable and spacious apartment with everything on your doorstep so it was lovely not to have to use the car. Owners were very accommodating and a pleasure to meet. Would recommend for a visit and we will probably come back again next year for a short break.
“First Class Apartment with amazing close-up harbour entrance views.” After a warm welcome by Lesley and Ben I was delighted with this high quality apartment and the close-up views of the harbour entrance and its stream of Ships and boats not too far from your balcony were so entertaining. Ideally situated as Gunwharf Quays, Spice Island Harbour, and Southsea's Hovercraft are all within easy reach. Your secure gated private
parking space is a real bonus. I can't wait to return in 2017!
“5 star apartment!” We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful apartment! Fully equipped with everything you need and very homely. Perfect location right by the seafront. Child friendly as we took our 4 year old daughter who loved having a double bed all to herself. Lovely welcome on arrival and will definitely stay again. Highly recommend this apartment.
“Epic view, top location, thoughtfully kitted out....” ... this flat comes highly recommended by us (parents + teenager). Everything you need for a pleasant break is provided in this well kitted-out apartment, and the welcome pack of milk, bread, wine and other essentials was a great help. You overlook HMS Victory and Warrior in the Historic Dockyard itself - fabulous visitor attraction - and are within easy walking distance of the city centre (about 15min) and Gunwharf Keys (eateries, cinema, outlet shopping) are about a 10min stroll away in the opposite direction. The departure point for the Isle of Wight passenger ferry is also just minutes away by foot. But the view is truly stunning, captivating all day long, with the busy port, the Solent, people and traffic passing far below on the street. Also wonderful at night.
The car park and management staff were particularly helpful, especially Clare Green, the administrator, both with safely storing our roof box (as the car would not fit in with it on due to low ceilings, though the car parking space itself was plenty big enough for our enormous Audi Q7) and with making sure all was in order when we checked out.
We were very comfortable in the apartment as a family of 3. Perhaps a bigger bed in one bedroom would make the main bedroom feel even more luxurious, and twin beds in the other room would work better for families - had our other teenager been with us, he would not have been best pleased at sharing a bed with his brother. Of course, we would not have chosen this flat if all 4 of us were holidaying - and I would have missed out on that awesome view.
“Brilliant Holiday Home - a home away from home!” What a wonderful time we had. Susan, the owner is fantastic. She text me during the week before our stay, met us at the flat on our arrival to welcome us and show us around.
During our stay, we text Susan to inform her (not complain), that the built in DVD player in the TV didn't work, and that the springs had gone on one side of the mattress. However, Susan's husband appeared later that day with a brand new mattress and DVD player! We were totally overwhelmed!!!
The flat has everything in it that you would want for a holiday home.
The Co-op is directly opposite the flat, and there's a common at the end of the road to walk the dog.
Brilliant value for money - we would definitely stay there again if we were in the area!
“Lovely, comfortable and convenient.” We spent a whole week in this lovely apartment and we loved it. We are a family with 1 child and one over 60´and everything we needed was in there for both, with no stairs to be worry about. Lounge and kitchen are bright, and rooms are quiet. The location is also absolutely handy convenient for the seafront, shopping area and transport links. We were nicely and helpfully received on arrival and felt at ease from the first minute in there.
This lovely island city on the south coast of England is steeped in naval history, but also offers a lot of other interests – it's got lots of history, both literary and military, and plenty of seaside entertainment to boot. Be sure to book your next holiday rental in Portsmouth for a jam packed and exciting trip.
There's a lot of literary history here too, as it’s not only the birthplace of Charles Dickens, but also a former home to many writers, including Arthur Conan Doyle, H G Wells and Rudyard Kipling.
What to Do
The Southsea Rose Garden is a beautiful place to walk around and literally stop to smell the flowers!
Canoe Lake is a great place to spend the day. Not only is the lake beautiful and inhabited by pretty swans, but there are tons of activities on offer. Tiny ones will love crabbing in the shallows, whilst older kids and adults will enjoy taking a paddleboat out across the lake.

Southsea Villa Sleeps 5, free wi-fi by the Beach
Amazing apartment, great location, superb decoration
Just returned from a fantastic 3 night break across New Years. What an amazing apartment furnished to a high standard and Jozie has thought of everything. When I mean everything...salt, pepper, croissants, jam, bread....delicious smelling chocolate shower gel! Everything! From the moment we arrived and was greeted by Jozie, who is a very lovely host, to the moment we left we had a huge smile on our faces. Anyone who has travelled to Southsea will know that location is everything and this apartment was located approximately 5 min walk from the seafront and 10 min walk to Osbourne Road which has a great selection of restaurants. I would highly recommend this apartment and would not hesitate to book again. Thanks Jozie for a fantastic stay …

Bright and Airy 2 Bed by the Sea
Central Location, very comfotable
Lovely apartment, very comfortable central location with private parking.
Amenities are very good and the welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch.
Only negative are the stairs, they are quite steep up to the 3rd floor, these
would be unsuitable for the elderly, but we enjoyed our stay there and would
definitely return. …
