“Wonderful apartment” Very clean, spacious and comfortable apartment with its own parking space. Close to the front and with a Waitrose a couple of minutes walk away. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave!
“Wonderful, last minute, surprise.” We actually booked Sue's apartment the night before we were due to stay. We were very happy with the apartment and Sue. She had everything you could possibly want or need, it was fully equipped. I'm a bit sorry that we couldn't spend another night there. The supermarket is right across the road (about 20 paces). We spent a whole day down at the dockyards which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Our only little drama was getting our wash dried. We were able to sort that out pretty quickly with the electric heater (not a problem). If ever we were to come to Portsmouth again we'd definitely stay at Sue's place. Thanks so much, Sue.
“Amazing apartment with all you would ever need” We really loved spice island apartment. Not only was the owner very welcoming when we arrived, he showed us around the apartment & very kindly left us a welcome pack which was not expected but very nice !!. Such a cosy stay with lovely little homely touches. Amazing views out of all the windows and no need to use a car as there are lots of things to see & do right on the door step. Would not hesitate to return again another time.
“Location was fantastic” This place has so much going for it , the location is brill for shops and the beach. Gill was really helpful and met us on arrival. The weather was sunny and we couldn't have asked for better considering the time of year.
“Great flat” Very nice flat, modern furnishings, clean and comfortable. Good location. Only a couple of little things need seeing to, a lose tap in the kitchen and the main door quite difficult to open but other than that we really enjoyed our short stay here. I had read reviews saying the stairs were narrow and steep but we didn't have any problem with them. Even my 3year old granddaughter managed them with no problem.
“Perfect holiday” Stayed here for the best June weather we have had for years. The flat is very comfortable and has everything needed for a carefree holiday. The view of the Solent is excellent don't forget to take your binoculars. My wife appreciated the beautiful cut flowers on the mantelpiece on our arrival. Parking is easy right outside the door don't forget to ask Paul for visitors permits. Definitely will be returning.
This lovely island city on the south coast of England is steeped in naval history, but also offers a lot of other interests – it's got lots of history, both literary and military, and plenty of seaside entertainment to boot. Be sure to book your next holiday rental in Portsmouth for a jam packed and exciting trip.
There's a lot of literary history here too, as it’s not only the birthplace of Charles Dickens, but also a former home to many writers, including Arthur Conan Doyle, H G Wells and Rudyard Kipling.
What to Do
The Southsea Rose Garden is a beautiful place to walk around and literally stop to smell the flowers!
Canoe Lake is a great place to spend the day. Not only is the lake beautiful and inhabited by pretty swans, but there are tons of activities on offer. Tiny ones will love crabbing in the shallows, whilst older kids and adults will enjoy taking a paddleboat out across the lake.

Arrive at the house at 4pm and has problem with the safe lock by the front door the combination given was not the correct combination to unlock the safe, called the owner and she was quick to sort out the issue and the correct number was given within minutes. When I booked the room it looked lovely but I did not realise that it was at the front of the property on the street so I was not able to open the blinds or open the window during the night as it was very warm in the room even after turning off the heating!Overall I have got to say the standard of the property for the price was very good went into the kitchen milk etc in the fridge and plenty of facilities are provided including cooker, microwave, hob about everything you would require to cook up a quick meal or even a roast meal! Room was clean and tidy nice simple decoration with a comfy bed.It is around 28 minutes from Portsmouth centre but could be walked in 20 close to fratton station and plenty of convenience stores in short walking distance ! Also met the owners husband perhaps and her son both very nice and greeted me in a kind and inviting manor! Overall would 100% stay again ! …
