Boat trips run regularly from Seahouses harbour to the Farne Islands in the summer. There are several golf courses nearby; the nearest at Seahouses is less than five minutes drive away whilst Bamburgh and Embleton are each about 15 or 20 minutes drive.Peace and tranquility are always to be found on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne whichcan only be accessed at low tide by a causeway which links it to the mainland. Berwick, the Scottish Borders and the Cheviot Hills are all within 30 minutes drive.

Beadnell

Beadnell Harbour is an historic and beautiful west-facing harbour (the only one on the North East coast!) and has the National Trust-owned Beadnell Limekilns as a backdrop.Beadnell has a post office and a small shop, two very good pubs with excellent food (The Beadnell Towers and The Craster Arms), a church and a well-equipped children's playground.South of Beadnell is the huge sweep of Beadnell Bay with its golden sands stretching for over 2 miles. Wonderful for children and the young-at-heart. Part-way round the bay is the Long Nanny bird reserve with a large colony of nesting terns and plovers.

“Fantastic, fantastic and fantastic”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2015

First rate accommodation, very spacious for all nine of us. Ideally situated for visiting Northumberland and Scottish Borders. Great views across the North Sea to the Farne Islands enhanced by the telescope on the second floor, mainly used by our 7 year old grandson to watch the people at the fish and chip shop. Very well equipped, absolutely everything you would need including 2 TV's, pool table, fussball table, Wii, dvd's, videos, games and books. Recommend the 'family bathroom' for its rainwater shower and very large spar bath tub. Haven beach great for rock pools for catching small crabs and shrimps. Thank you Helen.

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed everything so much! Hope to welcome you back again one day.

“A fantastic house in a great location which was enjoyed by all of us from 3 - 92 years of age!”

Reviewed 9 May 2015

A very well presented house with great views of the Northumbrian coast with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The weather was mixed but we were warm and very comfortable with enough space and things to do for the 9 of us to keep entertained. A great location for the beach and well placed for trips to Seahouses, Bamburgh, Embleton etc. Hope to return again soon.

3 - 92 is a pretty comprehensive age range and I am very glad that you all enjoyed yourselves so much!

“Magnificent Art Deco Family House - A Spotless Home from Home”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2014

This house encompassed everything we enjoy and love. Stunning sea views, light and airy, across the road from the wonderful beach, equipped to the gunnels with everything from crookery, glassware, up to date IT, pool table to a telescope on the "poop deck". The house has been restored with love and an eye for maximising the space and original detail. A loud and boisterous family enjoyed it tremendously and there was enough space for everyone (including a little down time on the second floor). we would all recommend staying at the The Haven without any hesitation - GO FOR IT!!!! Thank you Helen for the generous welcome pack- it was really appreciated. The Brown/McGoff/Mclean Families.

I am so glad you all enjoyed the house and thank you for taking the time to say so!

“A beautiful Art Deco holiday home with wonderful views”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2014

A very impressive house in an excellent location. The house was clean and very well equipped with lots of extra treats including; flowers, cake and wine. We loved the three storey layout which allowed us plenty of space. The views out to the Farne Islands are fantastic. The games area and jacuzzi bath were also very popular. There is a well stocked shop and fish and chips nearby and 2 good pubs in the village. The local beach and harbour with water sports are great. Overall, we had a super holiday. Thanks Helen.

You are very welcome!

“Superb house, location and views - just as good second time around!”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2014

This was the second time we have stayed here, and the village and beaches are lovely for young families. The house was great for a larger group, and plenty of space for adults to relax together away from children playing, whilst also keeping an eye. Nice touches with fresh flowers and foodie goodies, and the prosecco was a great way to start our holiday whilst enjoying the view to the Farne Islands.

Glad you all had a good holiday again and hope to welcome you back soon.

“FABULOUS”

So glad you had a good birthday celebration and holiday!

“We had a wonderful week staying in this much admired, lovely Art Deco house in an ideal location beside the beach.”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2013

This is a truly lovely house, very well equipped and appointed. We holidayed with family including 4 young children under 8 years and as the house is so spacious it was perfect for us. It was light and airy with beautiful views and was much admired by other holiday makers. Our only regret was that we did not try the new hot tub as being blessed with good weather we spent most of our time on the lovely beach opposite . Such a great location and much more than just a holiday house. We would recommend this delightful house to anyone.

Happy that you had such a good holiday!

“This is an outstanding house offering accommodation which ensures a fabulous holiday!”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2013

The house itself is an iconic landmark overlooking the coast in Beadnell and offering well designed accommodation, which provides ample space for a large extended family to enjoy their stay. There was a welcome tray stacked with thoughtful goodies and flowers in vases. Everywhere was clean and well equipped. The spa bath is an absolute treat. We enjoyed the pool table and the football table; in fact we enjoyed everything about the house. The owners even allow you use the hot tub, as long as you monitor everything appropriately - it really is worth the faff. Luxuriating in warm bubbles at the end of the day is a joy! The local environs are simply stunning, especially if the weather is kind as it was during our stay. We enjoyed the nearby beaches as well as Bamburgh and Alnwick. You must try the fish and chips across the road! We hope to come back again for another shot of absolutely everything. Many thanks to the owners for providing such a lovely place to share memories.

Very pleased you had such a good holiday!

“The 5 star unique Art Deco style house that lives up to it's name!”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2013

This is our 3rd stay in this fabulous unique property. The house is fully equipped with lots of luxuries to make your stay perfect. The owner has thought of everything to make our stay so enjoyable, we struggled to get our teenage boys to leave the house it is so comfortable and spacious , the owner has also added new attractions each year , and this year we had the pleasure of using a new hot tub in the garden and the use of Netflix on a smart tv. The views from the house are panoramic, being able to see the sea and coastline is such a bonus. This property is the perfect retreat for a relaxing self catering holiday in a lovely village .

So glad you had a lovely holiday again!

“perfect place for family get together”

Reviewed 10 May 2013

Lovely property in an excellent location. Very well fitted out with friendly helpful owners who make you welcome to use their home. We stayed with our children and grandchildren. There were eight of us and we never seemed crowded. The bedrooms are light and roomy and the children loved the bunk beds. The views out to sea whilst enjoyng our meals were an added bonus as were all the balconies. The evenings on the beach just over the road - flying kites and a glass wine in hand all made it a memorable birthday for us all.

Glad you all had a lovely time and a happy birthday!
