“Wonderful week at Loch Portain House” Very comfortable house with views to die for, had great weather apart from one day, fantastic wildlife, a stag in garden (a Royal, had 12 points) and 6/7 hinds, golden eagle, sea eagle all seen from house, TV never on, we sat at the picture window mornings then evenings after days walking for miles on the glorious beaches. Boys were kitesurfing, canoeing and a day stalking. The house was very well equipped and we had the peat fire on a few nights which was lovely with a wee dram and a North Uist Downpour Gin. The lovely housekeeper was on hand if we needed anything and let us stay an hour later on departure day as we were getting the later ferry. Had takeaway and sit in at Berneray Bistro which was delicious, meal at Lochmaddy Hotel which was also great, a visit to the seafood shop and cafe at Kallin, Grimsay is also worth a visit. We will be back, thank you x

“Comfy Cottage in a Stunning Location” The cottage is very warm and comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. The master bedroom is particularly attractive and the bed is extremely comfortable. We enjoyed eating our breakfast while looking out over the loch. We tried to get our dog to go out in the rowing boat with us but she refused!

“Turning a potential problem into a fantastic stay” A week of cancelled ferries and lots of rain, but still had a fantastic time. Harris is beautiful no matter what the weather. Donalda was a fantastic host. We were a day late arriving due to broken down ferry. We eventually arrived at 11.30 pm (30 hours later than planned) by a different route, but previous occupants of the cottage were stranded and couldn't get off the island until after we arrived. Could have been a nightmare, but Donalda had a solution and offered us her 'spare' cottage, just up the road from Clishom. This was all sorted out through emails before we arrived and the cottage looked brilliant, so we decided to take the offered spare cottage, rather than the stranded occupant moving out to the spare. We had always loved staying at Clishom - always warm, well equipped, clean, lovely views and a good location. Although it hasn't a garden, walking the dogs is easy, as the lane next to the cottage goes down to the sea. However, we weren't disappointed with not staying in Clishom as the 'spare' cottage we were offered as an alternative was amazing. Donalda usually keeps this for friends and family. But lucky for us and the stranded family in Clishom it was empty the week we were there. There was no pressure put on us to take the spare cottage, but it turned out to be a real treat. Thank you Donalda for another great stay and for offering us the choice of your spare cottage.

“Best location on Harris!” Perfect, secluded location at the waters edge but only ten minutes from the ferry terminal. So quiet, Bob the seal visited at least once daily, welcomed by deer in the garden on arrival day then frequently throughout the weeks stay. Rock pools on the doorstep, children spent hours just exploring the rocks and making great memories.It was hard to drag them away to explore the rest of the island but we all fell in love with the amazing beaches.Endless sands and practically empty Luskentyre and Scarista were favourites a short drive from the cottage. The cottage itself a perfect balance of tasteful decoration and many homely touches (the welcome wine very much appreciated!) As two families sharing the main house and end house we had more than ample space for all.We were all sad to leave and can’t wait to return to Harris!

“Another magical stay” This is the second time we have stayed at Cliscro and the cottage did not disappoint. Eleanor, the owner, believes in attention to detail so she has equipped this cottage to a very high standard. It is very private and extremely comfortable. The garden is dog friendly so our dogs enjoyed basking in the Hebridian sunshine in safety. However, the location is remote and private so there is little to worry about with your dogs! The Outer Hebrides offer breathtaking scenery, friendly welcomes beyond compare and beaches that just lift the human soul. We intend returning to Cliscro for a third visit next year- can't wait! Eleanor welcomes you with the gifts of cake and wine so your holiday begins with perfection. This cottage is an absolute diamond and is superbly placed for exploring both Harris and Lewis.

“a fantastic cottage and location” We had a lovely holiday at Glen Carragrich (helped by superb weather). The cottage was a true home from home well presented and comfortable .We fell in love with Harris and Lewis with its peaceful serenity and simplicity and wonderful beaches. Touring the whole of Harris ans Lewis was relatively easy from Glen Carragrich but it was alawys a pleasure to return to Glen Carragrich at the end of the day

“A very comfortable, relaxing place to stay.” We loved the views from every window. The situation was ideal as there were many walks and beautiful beaches only a short distance away. “Stunning views from a beautiful cottage on a scenic island!” This beautiful cottage is located in a sheltered cove on the NW corner of Lewis on the Island of Bernera. It was a wonderful place to stay, not only for the magnificent views of the Atlantic coast from the lounge, but a great venue to venture forth and visit the whole of Lewis. If you want a quiet, peaceful and idyllic location then this cottage is for you! On a practical note, the cottage is well equipped and has both a wood fire and oil fired central heating to keep you warm in the Winter. To quote the famous phrase, this cottage has exactly 'what it says on the tin'! W would definitely go again! A fair drive from Stornaway or Tarbert but well worth it. Don't go here if you are expecting a plethora of night life! But if you want a rest or just to enjoy nature then this IS the place for you!

“Harris stay” Spent a fantastic week exploring Harris and Lewis from this fantastic cottage. The road to it seems daunting at first but you soon get used to it. It’s well kitted out and had everything we needed. Comfortable and warm which was good when you gone back cold and wet. We were lucky to get an almost daily visit from local deer which were easy to spot from the cottage
