Cottages in Isle of Mull and Self catering accommodation - Holiday Lettings - Holiday Rentals Isle of Mull
“Mull with its scenery and wildlife is a microcosm of all that is” Oakfield had all that we would have wished for, comfortable, views to the sea, a few minutes from the centre of Tobermory and helpful hosts. Mull abounds with scenery and wildlife with a multiplicity of picture postcards views, places of interest and a good selection of eating places to meet all budgets.
Regular ferries to Staffa and Iona are a bonus and should not be missed. The Theatres offer a good range of entertainment.
We had a superb week and readily recommend Mull to our friends
The Isle of Mull is the neighbouring island of Ioana on the west coast of Scotland. If you have kids, they'll most likely recognise the multicoloured housing made famous in the CBeebies programme Balamory, which are well-known in the town of Tobermory. Book your holiday rental in the Isle of Mull today.
About the Isle of Mull
Mull was first inhabited just after the Ice Age at around 6500–3500 BC. The island is perfect for those looking for a remote vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's not unusual to find yourself with acres of land, clifftops and even coves to yourself whilst exploring.
The capital of Tobermory is a delightful tourist attraction, where you'll find rows of brightly coloured buildings and impressive local produce, and plenty to keep you occupied.
What to do
Calgary Bay is also a must-visit if you're hoping to explore the nature and scenery within the island. It's extremely easy to get to and is in fact one of the most photographed beaches in the whole of Scotland – so remember to bring your camera!
If you're a keen wildlife enthusiast, you'll definitely be heading to the right place. Mull is alive with a variety of different creatures, including seals, otters and even bottle-nosed dolphins. For the best chance to catch a glimpse of wildlife, it'd be recommended to take a boat tour from Tobermory harbour.
Top Isle of Mull travel tips
West Coast Tours Ltd operate buses in the area and provide routes between Tobermory and Calgary, therefore it may not be necessary to hire a car. There's also a minibus service between Craignure and Duart Castle which runs on a seasonal basis.
