“Well-appointed, modern house, with town centre convenience.” We were an extended family group of 11, including two children aged 3 and 8, and a baby of 8 months. The place was spick and span, and generally well-equipped: any omissions were minor and didn't really affect our stay.
The house is in central Lyndhurst, and on a main road going through. However, the road impinged very little on our enjoyment of the property (although the weather meant we didn't spend any time in the garden space). The advantage of the location was that we never needed to use our cars: the centre (with shops and restaurants) is within easy walking distance, and we walked to a local pub for Sunday lunch. The children were safe from the main road.
The house has separate living, dining and play rooms, which meant we could split up and avoid getting on each other's nerves. There is a lockable garage and a useful garden shed. We parked four cars (they advertise space for three).
The bathroom provision worked well for us. There are steps down to the living room and dining room which would be awkward for wheelchair users. Everyone said the beds were very comfortable. It was an easy place to stay.
“Shhh” Shhh! Dont tell anyone about this fantastic little haven of tranquility as we dont want it booked up for when we want to return.
Many thanks to Stephanie and John for their warm welcome package and their delightfully homely cottage that we really just didnt want to leave!
This place is a credit to them.
Plenty of games and dvds to keep you entertained if you didnt want to venture out if it was raining. The best ever equipped kitchen we have ever had in a holiday rental.
Plenty of eateries within walking distance and can heartily recommend the specials at the Berties chippy, the tuesday evening special at Indian Fusion and absolutely anything from Imperial China.
Handy for walks in the forest and wildlife watching.
Cant wait to rebook when we can maage to sort some time off from work.
Beautiful cottage with amazing placement in Lyndhurst. Only 10 minutes walk from the village centre where there are shops and restaurants to visit (del rio is lovely). There is a pub 100 yards from the cottage that is really nice aswell.
The cottage was warm and cute with all appliances working and suitable. Had a great week and highly recommend. …
The Old School House
The perfect gem in the New Forest.
The Old School House in Bramshaw is the perfect location for exploring the Forest. Close to Lyndhurst, Lymington, Salisbury, Winchester and Southampton.
Found many good pubs serving lovely food close by and have loved seeing ponies, donkeys, sheep and cows all nearby.
We have loved this place and would highly recommend it. It is so well equipped and is beautifully warm and cozy.
The owners Helen & Paul made us most welcome and helped made our stay a very happy, memorable time in a very special place. …
Rhubarb Cottage, The Custards, Lyndhurst, The New Forest

Rob and Karen are very kind and everything was ready for us to enjoy our holiday when we arrived ! We'll wisit again ! Thank you ! …
Our aim for the week was to park the car, leave it where it stood, walk the New Forest and enjoy some good local food.
The Bothy is a lovely bungalow, spotlessly clean with plenty of room for the two of us, and perfectly placed to do everything we wanted to.
Leave The Bothy and within a hundred yards you’re on the Lyndhurst high street or right onto the New Forest.
We tried most of the local restaurants and didn’t have a bad meal in any of them.
I would totally recommend staying at The Bothy, we loved it. …
Lovely, well stocked cottage very close to the centre of Lyndhurst. Slightly over themed with cows but still a lovely place to stay. …
We had a lovely stay at Spring Cottage. The house is full of character & the bedrooms are excellent (including great showers). The location is ideal, within walking distance to nice walks. We would definitely stay there again. …
