“Good value” Elaine Evans welcomed us and briefly showed us the cottage and left us to it (which was not overbearing and very welcome). Items such as toilet paper, milk and heating were all laid on. We were left alone with no interference whatsoever.

The perfect hideaway forest of dean
Perfect base

The cottage is perfectly placed to enjoy all the beauty and activities of the Forest of Dean and beyond. Immaculately presented and well equipped, the cottage is an ideal retreat. Although small, there is plenty of space to store all your belongings and the cottage is blessed with beautiful original features. The beams in the bedrooms are gorgeous. We particularly enjoyed the shower but missed having a bathroom upstairs. The wood burning stove makes it a cosy and warm place to relax after a day of exploration. We had a great week. Thank you. see more

Clean, Cosy Cottage, Forest of Dean, walk, cycle.
Effortlessly comfortable

Perfect location for all of the favourite things to visit. Puzzle wood, Sculpture trail, Perrygrove train, clear well caves and coleford all 15 minutes away. There is a small shop at the end of the lane and a pub. Plenty of outdoor space to take advantage of with forest on your doorstep! The kids loved running around in the paddock and using the cute train and plane, both of which kept our little one amused. The kids and adults alike used the courtyard which is equipped with benches and bbq facilities. On arrival we were greeted by Elaine and shown to our accommodation, travel cot and stair gate had been provided at no extra cost which is always helpful. There was a pint of milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and some choccy bars to welcome us. The stay was comfy with everything we needed. Freshly laundered towels were provided for each person in our party and there were washing and drying facilities for our clothes. We really felt at home here. Having stayed at many rentals in the Forest of Dean it's safe to say that this will be the only one we return to in the future. Thanks for a great break! see more
The Whitehouse
Lovely house

We went there for my husband birthday there was 9 of us the house was very accommodating and didn't feel like you where on top of each other. There was enough room for us all do what we wanted. We where lucky and it was bank holiday august weekend the weather was beautiful and we where in the garden most of the time in the sun, BBQ Saturday and Sunday good time by all. Lovely village with plenty of pubs to visit and walks to do in the area. Really pieceful place . Really good time by all. see more
Forest of Dean, Mill Hill Cottage
Gorgeous cottage, lovely stay

I stayed here with my daughter and 3 of our friends for the weekend. The cottage was very homely, warm and comfortable. Cosy but not small. The garden would be lovely to sit in during the summer months and the area was beautifully quiet. The accommodation had top marks from all of us. The only downside was that there wasn't anywhere to walk to to eat. The Rising Sun advertises meals but they stopped doing them some time ago. We had an evening meal in the Royal Oak, around a 10 minute drive away. The meal was average and, should you try it, I'd recommend using cash as we threw them into some confusion when we presented a card. Would definitely stay at Mill Hill Cottage again though. Beautiful. see more
