“Perfect for a large gathering and a beautiful setting” I have just returned from a weekend away with a large group of friends with children from 8-15 yrs old. We hired both barns and the accommodation was perfect for our needs. We were able to sleep in both barns but Haford was large enough for us to all hang out together and the games room was a big hit with the boys. The barns both provide everything you could need to cater for a large group - nothing has been missed - and they are all decorated beautifully. The only thing we needed was a map for the kitchen as there were so many cupboards full of equipment!
The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful and ideal for walks and exploring. The boys made full use of the lake and had great fun messing around in boats. We all agreed it would be lovely to visit in the warmer weather as it is a perfect spot for a picnic and a swim.
I would thoroughly recommend these barns for anyone looking for accommodation for a large family or friends gathering.
Perfect 'getaway from it all' cottage in the forest
We stayed at Cwmbiga Bach for a short break last week with our family..myself,my husband, 3 teenagers and our dog Buster. It was an amazing 'get away from it all' break in a stunning location.
We were initially a bit worried by the lack of wifi and mobile phone signal, (having 3 tech addicts with us) but needn't have been as I don't think they missed it at all! We packed plenty of board games and watched movies when it rained. When the sun shone we were outdoors enjoying the fresh air.
The drive from Llanidloes is spectacular! Past the Clewedog Resevoir...well worth a visit for more walks. In fact each time we left for a day out our sat nav took us on a different route showing us the stunning countryside.
When we arrived, were greeted by Sarah and a plate of her Dad's delicious home made welsh cakes. Which disappeared in minutes! Then we went on a hike up the forestry road before enjoying a BBQ on the lovely patio outside the cottage...We can highly recommend the butchers in the market in LLanidloes.. amazing sausages and bacon!
The cottage is spotless and has everything you need and more for a relaxing stay. Its a cosy home from home which is a perfect retreat after a long day outdoors. Especially when its cold enough to light the log fire! There are beautiful walks from the doorstep and we even drove up North to hike up Snowdon.
A great location with a warm welcome from our hosts which is perfect for exploring the area or just enjoying some family time to escape from real life!
Thank you all for such a lovely welcome...we'll be back to visit in the future
The Holmes family …

Talgarth Manor Historic House
Great walking base.
Booked the Manor over Easter for 6 people. Used it as a base to walk the Glyndwr's Way. A very attractive 350 year old Manor House with delightful furnishings and facilities it suited us perfectly. We had been warned to expect one or two plumbing problems, mainly the consequence of the house being shut up over 3 winter months but we were able to cope with these. The owners, Mark and Vivienne Wright, were very helpful. …
1st Class - Clean, well equipped and close to all amenities. The owner was hand if we had any issues (not that we did). Our first but certainly not our last stay.
Many Thanks to Lisa …
Wonderful location, beautiful cottage, lovely host, what else we need to enjoy the holiday. Such a scenic beauty at the door steps. Whole town itself a treat for eyes. We loved the town and the valleys around it. We definitely returning again. …
Tranquil location in beautiful mid Wales
This is my second visit to Garth Barns and would highly recommend. Accommodation is very clean and comfortable. Lots of attention to detail that makes you feel special. Plenty of wonderful walks, in this beautiful location. Red Kites can be observed a short distance away. And a visit to the nearby town is a must, where all the locals are friendly and helpful. I will most certainly be returning again. …
