Garth Barns are luxury self catering barns. The outdoor unheated pool is the small private Garth Lake (70mx30m), about 300 metres from the Barns. There is jetty for diving from and 2 Canadian canoes and 2 little boats. The Barns are set in glorious countryside just two miles from the delightful small town of Llanidloes, with its interesting shops, pubs and cafes. Together, the Barns (Hafod and Ty Nant) and Garth Country House comfortably sleep at least 48 in 18 bedrooms (16 ensuite). The Barns and Garth Country House are normally booked together unless they are still available a month before the required dates. The barns are close together on either side of the spacious landscaped courtyard and garden, with a pond and stream. The cabana with big gas barbecue is perfect for relaxed informal dining. There are lots of places to sit and socialise, both inside and out. Great walks from the doorstep too. The perfect place for celebrations with family and friends.

Hafod and Ty Nant Barns, and Garth Country House - luxury self catering - are normally booked together for groups up to 48. Hafod has large dining and living spaces where everyone can socialise and eat together. Hafod has been decorated in a cool modern style, with underfloor heating and big windows opening on to the slate terrace and garden. In contrast, Ty Nant has a homely farmhouse atmosphere with a big oak table and a traditional fireplace. Garth Country House, former country seat of the Londonderry family, is a beautifully renovated period house with garden. There are terraces to the front and rear of both barns, and an enclosed safe place for toddlers to play. Lots of playing space inside too! There is a Cabana in the garden with big gas BBQ - eat al fresco whatever the weather! There is a gym and sauna on site too! Catering can usually be arranged if required.

Garth Barns are part of Garth Farm - 240 acres of hill, fields, woodland and dingle with wildlife pools and spectacular views. Excellent walking country. The Farm Trail winds a path through woodland and open country. Good birdwatching. Owls, woodpeckers, buzzards, nuthatches, woodcock and redstarts are resident. Across the field, 300 metres from the barns there is a small private lake with 2 little boats and 2 Canadian canoes - a beautiful spot to spend the afternoon. The lake swimming is fantastic and there is jetty for diving from. The Camp Fire in the orchard is a real hit with guests. The Garth Barns Treasure Hunt is popular too. This may be adapted to suit to your event.

“Fantastic accommodation with great facilities & views”

We hired all three houses (the two barns and the country house) for a long weekend for a family party. There were 32 of us including 8 children. The accommodation was fantastic, we thought it would be good, but it was even better than expected. Very well set up for groups - lovely rooms, nearly all en-suite, two dishwashers in Hafod, lots of fridge space and plenty of room in doors and out. Great facilities - lake, campfire, walks, ping pong, pool table, sauna and gym, even Sky to watch the football on. The kids loved boating and swimming in the lake and we all enjoyed the well set out campfire that was just in front of Hafod. In fact I would say it was perfect, our only issue was having to deal with a 3.5 yr old having a melt down on the last day as she didn't want to leave!

The peace & tranquility of the location is wonderful & the property is excellent with significant thought having been put into the design of the property. It was an excellent base for our large group & we used many of the facilities on offer. All were reluctant to leave.

This is my second visit to Garth Barns and would highly recommend. Accommodation is very clean and comfortable. Lots of attention to detail that makes you feel special. Plenty of wonderful walks, in this beautiful location. Red Kites can be observed a short distance away. And a visit to the nearby town is a must, where all the locals are friendly and helpful. I will most certainly be returning again.

A far-flung family group of 25 came to Garth Barns and had a great weekend - there are already many of the family seeking to arrange a longer return visit. Veronica's help (in organising, planning, hosting), the standard of the barns and the location/facilities were all superb and make a second visit in 2018 very likely. Plentiful facilities meant that we were able to cook and coordinate a full Christmas Dinner for 25 and we loved the decorated trees provided. We made use of the lake and indoor facilities but just didn't have the time for BBQ, camp-fire, use of the Gym and Sauna... so much to do when we return. Everyone left smiling.

We and our friends families all with kids had a great time this summer. With the lake with a few boats, covered bbq, a campfire on the last day and perfect weather all week, it was a fanatstic stay. The kids were in their own world. The hosts were very helpful and attentive. It all worked so wonderfully well. Would strongly recommend this place...

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Garth Barns, cannot complain about a thing. The Barns were just perfect beautifully done, Veronica the owner was extremely helpful in the run up to our family get together. Thoroughly enjoyed all that was to offer at the Barns, the lake was great fun, the treasure hunt was certainly worth a go. The children loved toasting marshmallows around the fire in the evening. Then had a family competition of pool & table tennis late into the evenings. Would certainly recommend. Thank you

Nestled in the Welsh countryside there couldn't be a better location for a holiday if you love the great outdoors. With many walks in your doorstep a great place to stretch the legs. The owners have tried to think of everything. Particularly liked two dishwashers in the main kitchen which made it so easy when catering for large groups. Would definitely go again

6 families had a 5 day stay in both barns. What a brilliant trip! Both barns are beautifully decorated and kitted out with everything you could possibly think of. We has 15 children staying, aged from 1 - 14 years and yet they all had something to keep them amused whether it be playing table tennis or pool or messing about on the boating lake. The scenery is just stunning and we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather which meant lots of walks and BBQs and marshmallow toasting on the fire-pit. Mr & Mrs Hollis could not have been more helpful and clearly went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed and maximised our stay. We are all putting our heads together to see when we can book to return.

For my husbands 60th birthday we anxiously read the reviews worrying that it would meet our needs - from new born to 60! We were truly amazed at the attention to detail for the property. There was space for partying, tranquility, games and action all in well thought out accommodation. Clean, spacious, comfortable with ample room for parking yet no traffic so under 5's were safe. The boats on the lake were a big hit along with the table tennis and pool table. The barbecue and the campfire added to the fun. We enjoyed the small town of Llandiloes which was within walking distance and it had a quaint Saturday market. We had a fantastic weekend and would recommend Garth Barns to young and old alike.

I was looking for a venue for a slightly older stag weekend, it needed to sleep 21 of us in comfort, a very large and capable kitchen dining room, easy parking for a number of cars and a layout that drew us all together. The two barns are set in a great position at the head of a small valley, the sun pours onto one terrace in the morning, and they keep the light all day. They are beautifully converted, with great attention to detail and quality, and the list of 'proper extras' really set this rental apart from others. So often extras are there but either not fully working, or the table tennis table is buried under piles of rubbish in an outhouse! The sauna was great and easy to use, there was unlimited dry firewood for the stove, the table tennis table was in a very well lit and central location, as was the pool table. The kitchen and its equipment were of good quality, and worked well for our large post mountain biking feast, and cooked breakfasts. Showers all worked perfectly with plenty of hot water. Lots of planning has gone into the layout of these two barns and it made such a difference to the dynamics of our large group. Veronica Hollis, the owner, was very easy to communicate with before we arrived, and when we did she was very welcoming, and explained everything we needed to know. We all felt it was a great place for a few families to get together for a holiday, and would recommend the barns to anyone.
