“A little slice of heaven....look forward to returning!”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2016

6 families had a 5 day stay in both barns. What a brilliant trip! Both barns are beautifully decorated and kitted out with everything you could possibly think of. We has 15 children staying, aged from 1 - 14 years and yet they all had something to keep them amused whether it be playing table tennis or pool or messing about on the boating lake. The scenery is just stunning and we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather which meant lots of walks and BBQs and marshmallow toasting on the fire-pit. Mr & Mrs Hollis could not have been more helpful and clearly went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed and maximised our stay. We are all putting our heads together to see when we can book to return.

“Spacious accommodation, spectacular location, what more do you need!”

For my husbands 60th birthday we anxiously read the reviews worrying that it would meet our needs - from new born to 60! We were truly amazed at the attention to detail for the property. There was space for partying, tranquility, games and action all in well thought out accommodation. Clean, spacious, comfortable with ample room for parking yet no traffic so under 5's were safe. The boats on the lake were a big hit along with the table tennis and pool table. The barbecue and the campfire added to the fun. We enjoyed the small town of Llandiloes which was within walking distance and it had a quaint Saturday market. We had a fantastic weekend and would recommend Garth Barns to young and old alike.

“Perfect accommodation in a great setting”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2013

I was looking for a venue for a slightly older stag weekend, it needed to sleep 21 of us in comfort, a very large and capable kitchen dining room, easy parking for a number of cars and a layout that drew us all together. The two barns are set in a great position at the head of a small valley, the sun pours onto one terrace in the morning, and they keep the light all day. They are beautifully converted, with great attention to detail and quality, and the list of 'proper extras' really set this rental apart from others. So often extras are there but either not fully working, or the table tennis table is buried under piles of rubbish in an outhouse! The sauna was great and easy to use, there was unlimited dry firewood for the stove, the table tennis table was in a very well lit and central location, as was the pool table. The kitchen and its equipment were of good quality, and worked well for our large post mountain biking feast, and cooked breakfasts. Showers all worked perfectly with plenty of hot water. Lots of planning has gone into the layout of these two barns and it made such a difference to the dynamics of our large group. Veronica Hollis, the owner, was very easy to communicate with before we arrived, and when we did she was very welcoming, and explained everything we needed to know. We all felt it was a great place for a few families to get together for a holiday, and would recommend the barns to anyone.

We went here as a large group of friends to celebrate someone's birthday.there was plenty of space for everyone (there was 30 of us) and the cooking facilities were more than adequate.the gym and sauna was brilliant and the scenery around the barns was beautiful. The village is only a 20minute walk away and there are lots of activities to do (we really enjoyed clay pigeon shooting!) it's the perfect place to have a party, lots of space for people and room for a dance floor etc.The trip could not have gone any better and we are already planning our next visit in the summer"

“Beautiful location, high quality accommodation”

The barns were a wonderful place to stay for a 50th birthday gathering, with plenty of space and the perfect combination of indoor and outdoor activities. The gym and sauna were a real treat and we were just astonished by the thought that had gone into everything, particularly the equipment in the kitchen. Friendly and helpful owner and staff. We definitely want to come back!

“Perfect for a large gathering and a beautiful setting”

I have just returned from a weekend away with a large group of friends with children from 8-15 yrs old. We hired both barns and the accommodation was perfect for our needs. We were able to sleep in both barns but Haford was large enough for us to all hang out together and the games room was a big hit with the boys. The barns both provide everything you could need to cater for a large group - nothing has been missed - and they are all decorated beautifully. The only thing we needed was a map for the kitchen as there were so many cupboards full of equipment! The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful and ideal for walks and exploring. The boys made full use of the lake and had great fun messing around in boats. We all agreed it would be lovely to visit in the warmer weather as it is a perfect spot for a picnic and a swim. I would thoroughly recommend these barns for anyone looking for accommodation for a large family or friends gathering.

“A stunning place to stay in beautiful surroundings”

Where do you stay with 7 families including a variety of adults, 15 children between us and 4 dogs?.. the answer is HERE. We turned up on Friday night keen but tired and were met by the lovely owner who gave us some info on the barns and some local advice. She had got the wood burners going for us and all the beds were made up as we had asked in advance. We were immediately impressed by the space and the cleanliness of the place. It has a wonderful large communal area in Hafod where we spent most of our time and a more cosy living space in Ty Nant. The bedrooms are all a good size with lovely comfy beds and most have their own bathroom or toilet and basin. The kitchen and dining area is very well set out and well equipped to make catering for such a large group no problem. We found the utility and drying areas really useful too especially when coming in from one of the lovely walks either within the grounds or in the surrounding areas where you will find lots of wildlife, streams and waterfalls. Our children really enjoyed just playing in and around the barns. There is lots of space to explore outside and a fabulous lake with rowing boats which provided hours of fun. They even braved a dip in the lake despite there having been an early frost!! There is also a games room in Hafod which gave them much needed space away from the adults! We walked to Llanidloes on the Saturday where we picked up some meat from the local butchers for our barbeque that evening. We had a quick pint in the very friendly and accomodating (they needed to be with 28 adults and 4 dogs) Stag Inn. It was lovely to see the local farmers market on the main street of the town doing a good trade as well as a variety of independant shops. These are very well equipped barns with plenty of space and lots of outdoors to explore. I can't recommend it more highly.
