“Perfection” We stayed here for a long weekend with our two children (4 and 6). The cabin is absolutely gorgeous and the attention to detail is fantastic. The view from the terrace is amazing and we loved enjoying an evening meal on there, when the sun

    The Garden Apartment
Clean, comfortable and convenient for the beach at Sandyhills - an ideal base for our holiday!

The Garden Apartment is just a short walk to Sandyhill's beach and located in a woodland setting - an ideal base for exploring the Galloway coast. The property was clean and comfortable and dog-friendly - an ideal base for our holiday! … see more
    Cumstoun Lodge

The lodge is in a great location to use as a base and go out exploring. Although the lodge was very cold when we arrived, the whole place warms up quickly once the heaters are on. The lodge is fully equipped with everything you'll need for a self catering holiday. Dalbeattie is a ten minute drive away for any necessary essentials. As we were there for Burns Night, we got some haggis from the butchers in Dalbeattie, and had a traditional burns supper. We did a lovely coastal walk with our Border Collie, from Sandyhills Caravan Park (which is only 500yrds down the road from the entrance to the lodges) to Rockcliffe, which is about 5.5miles, and caught the bus back. Beautiful sea views and a great walk. One of the highlights of staying here is the wildlife. If you take bird seed and nuts for the squirrels, you won't be disappointed. We also saw deer and a badger, and we only stayed three nights. Beautiful part of the world to visit and a great place to stay. see more

    Just the perfect holiday

I cannot tell you how much my family and I enjoy staying at Dunmuck, but I'll have a go! From the warmth of the owners hospitality to the beauty of the location, gardens and house everything is just perfect. You will wish you never have to leave, but before you do make sure you take advantage of everything this rental has to offer, walking, boating, hot baths outdoors, log fires and so much more! Would visit again tomorrow if we could see more

Outstanding - both the lodge and its location

This is a piece of heaven perched above a forest overlooking a bay and island and although secluded, everything we needed was within easy reach. The accommodation was far more luxurious and spacious (masses of room for five of us - three generations) than pictured; it was immaculate and surprisingly warm during the below-average temperatures of this wet summer. We didn't get through all the walks accessed from the lodge.... but next time. Ancient forest tracks with ruins and relics from bygone days. Old moss-covered dry-stane dykes where you least expect them. Exposed rock formations. Birds too many to name visiting the garden. Lovely beaches nearby. Good local pub food. Everything so laid back. None of us has slept so well. We are thoroughly rested and rejuvenated. Carol, we send our best wishes and many thanks. see more

    Great rural rental.

Nice property, well appointed and very well suited for a family stay - lots of space inside and out. Ideal base for exploring the local area which is beautiful. Booking process very straight forward and helpful assistance from the owner. … see more
    Screel Lodge
    FANTASTIC LOCATION

Could not fault the peaceful location of the lodge. Many wonderful walks close to lodge. Walked to Barend holiday park a couple of evenings for a meal and drink but you need a good torch for the trip back in the dark. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. The lounge/kitchen area could have done with some TLC but as we had 2 dogs with us we didn`t mind. The master should have been the one overlooking the golf course as the views were wonderful .Plenty wildlife with Badgers visiting us every evening ! The owners were there when we arrived and had just installed a new tumble dryer which was very useful as we had a couple or rainy days. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave , we would recommend Screel lodge to anyone who likes peace and quiet with wonderful views see more
