“In a Valley, not that far away” If it were up to me, all recommendations would be judged on the view from the establishments window. If I told you that this particular view, over a small babbling river, down a Valley toward Betws-y-coed was so very beautiful that I'd have been happy looking out of said window all day, that might give you a clue as to how lovely an experience it was to stay at Glanrhyd. The abode itself sits not far off the main road between Betws and Conwy (So it's brilliantly located if you can muster the energy to step outside) but you wouldn't notice a main road at all as the location is so private . The idyllic cottage is really well appointed and beautifully kept, with a few mod cons to complement the lovely older features that you'd associate (and desire) from a Welsh cottage. Every effort has been taken to make sure that you want for nothing and even the small things like, towels are high quality and suggest alot of thought has gone into preparing for your stay. My family and I had a lovely time - taking advantage of short walks into Betws for provisions, and the nearby Tree tops adventure for adrenaline fuelled kicks. There are plenty of hostelries nearby to quench a thirst or feed a growling stomach. If you do visit, I'm sure that you'll have a great time - whether you decide to stop inside or enjoy the great outdoors.

“Wonderful Location” This is the second time I have stayed here and I will certainly come again. The accommodation is comfortable and well appointed but the star of the show is the scenery in which the cottage is set, which is breathtaking. On top of this the host is excellent even when a request is made at short notice and the there is a little pack of useful and tasty goods awaiting on arrival. It is convenient for all local sites and walking can happen as soon as you step out of the door. I would go on but if the property gets too busy I will not be able to re-book. Its wonderful.
“Stunning views and peace” What a fantastic holiday! Remote location, peaceful, stunning views of mountains out of each window, just what we'd hoped it would be and more. Climbed and scrambled to top of mountain from our doorstep with 9 and 11yr old. Exhillerating. Ideally located to venture to different places everyday, rain or shine.

“Family Celebration” Abbey End is a lovely place to stay. Ideal for families. Very comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. Great location for sightseeing and Zip World. Parking and access wasn’t easy if there are several vehicles. Garden / back area had uneven surfaces, however, the seating area was delightful especially with the stream, which our spaniel loved. Dog safe area. Owners are very welcoming.

“Fabulous house. Ideal family space with everything we needed!” Great house in a perfect location. In the middle of things but not on the main road. Minutes walk to the restaurants and all that Betws-y-coed has to offer, (including the local Spar and bakery), but everything provided should you prefer to stay "at home". And what a home it is. Plenty of space for our 6 adult family group - no sharing of bathrooms (3 of the bedrooms have ensuites), room at the kitchen table for us all (we spent a lot of time there!) and a good lounge space for everyone to do as they wished. Its a sturdy attractive house, well presented, very clean, with everything thought of - our usual "self catering" kit not needed here. Everything we looked for was provided from new house slippers for each guest (sensible no shoes policy inside the house) to cling film. Even the knives are sharp which is rare in a holiday cottage. Nick and Emiko seemed to have thought of everything. The garden is lovely, backing onto the river (no river access) and clearly cared for. Would have loved to have seen the salmon run or an otter, but alas we were unlucky. Nick and Emiko really know the area well and were a mine of useful information. There really is a lot to do in this area and we hardly scratched the surface. Take slippers. Take dog biscuits (Joe, the owner's dog will thank you for this). And definitely book. It is a fabulous house in the best location. We plan to return!
