“Wonderful!” From the moment of booking until the day we left we had first class customer service! We have stayed in 5* hotels and believe me Christine and Louise could teach them a few things!
The Lodge is beautiful and really does feel like a home from the vast amount of books and games to the beautiful garden and well equipped kitchen it simply is the best self catering place we have ever stayed. Situated in the beautiful and in our opinion best village in Northumberland its a fantastic base for some great days out like alnwick Castle, Cragside, Seahouses boat trips and much much more. The only downside is I'll guarantee you won't want to come home :)
“A lovely cosy cottage with super views and proximety to the sea” We would wholeheartedly recommend this cottage to anyone wishing for comfortable, cosy accommodation with the convenience of shops, post office and local pubs all just a couple of minutes away. Northumberland is one of our favourite parts of the country and this part of the county is stunning. We have stayed in Northumberland many times, returning to one property 7 times which was beautiful but remote and lonely. Alnmouth was somewhere we always wanted to stay and we really enjoyed our holiday there. The only problem we could envisage would be in the Summer with the on-street parking as it was always busy but no problem when we stayed in November.
“Ideal modern conversion with sea views and close to Alnwick” On a working farm, this is one of three 2 storey cottages converted from a barn (they also have other cottages and Bed and breakfast in their adjacent farmhouse. Our cottage had a four poster bed and bathroom on the ground floor and a lounge/diner/kitchen in a modern open-plan layout(well designed by the owner)
We had a great view of the sea across the fields and were able to watch the resident barn owl hunting over the field. We booked there to be near Alnwick Garden and to be able to birdwatch on the farne islands and Lindisfarne. It was ideal for this and we had perfect sunny weather all week!
Only possible problem for less abled perople is the spiral staircase, but the adjacent unit had a proper staircase-as maybe the others do too-so ask before booking. Not a problem for us. We would recommend.
