“Fantastic accommodation with all the home comforts”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2015

We stayed for a week at Midwood Lodge along with our 2 boys. The Lodge had everything you would want and it is very spacious with a very large garden. The location is perfect as it is only takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the beach. The village of Almouth is only about a five minute walk and has lots of great eating places. We can recommend the Italian and also the Red Lion Pub. Alnwick is only about 4 miles away and even closer is Sainsburys supermarket which was very handy as the village shop is a bit pricey. We has a couple of wet days but we recommend the nearby Leisure Centre which is next to Sainsburys if you need to entertain the kids. It is our second stay at the lovely place and it won't be our last.

“Lovely family holiday home”

Reviewed 13 May 2012

Three generations of our family appreciated the house as it had so much to offer good living space indoors well equipped kitchen and lots of things to entertain for children and adults a like. The large garden is great and the tree house was a treat for our little girl and the adults enjoyed the badmington equipment . Alnmouth was a charming village and the beach in easy reach. We would recommend this home and location as a good base for seeing Northumbria.

“Excellent accommodation in wonderful coastal village - we'll be back!”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2011

Our second visit to Midwood Lodge, Alnmouth. In a quiet but convenient location, the single storey Lodge is spacious, comfortably furnished and immaculately clean. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The sitting room is large, light and airy - the wood burning stove a welcome feature - wood supplied. Good for sprawling after a day in the fresh air! Relaxing conservatory. The garden is large and grassed, with trees and shrubs and full of birds and other wildlife. The village with pubs, cafes, shop etc is only a few minutes walk. 'Lovers Walk' alongside the tidal estuary is always interesting. Car not always necessary as (mainline) train station is walkable or a short bus ride away. Bus stop to Alnwick (Castle, Playhouse and Barter Books) and beyond is just outside the front driveway. Nice touches? The welcome flowers, wine, gorgeous almond cake and chocs! Downside? The duvets are very warm! But you can always take your own ... Alnmouth is a lovely coastal village with a long, sandy beach. Lots of other attractive and interesting towns and villages to visit close by.
