“Home from home” This is the 5th time we have stayed in Johnshaven, our 2nd time at this wee cottage...this time we brought our dog ❣️ It's absolutely perfect, only a stone's throw from the harbour, with a lovely wee cafe, hotel which serves the most amazing seafood and shop right on the doorstep. A play park for children is just a wee walk along the sea front. This year, we managed to capture some glorious sunrises. We will be back Nathalie, thank you.

“Beautiful location, wonderful accomodation, first class service” We stayed for a long weekend at Buchaness Lighthouse Cottages. The booking process was personal, fast and simple - exactly as it should be. Sheila was quick to respond to any questions I had about the cottage and pass on information about the local area. Checking in was a breeze, Sheila was on hand to show us around and answer any questions. The cottage itself was beautiful, fantastic kitchen with all facilities you would ever require, a cosy living room with a ready to light coal fire, tv, comfy chairs and a window seat overlooking the sea with high powered binoculars! The bedrooms were a delight, the beds oh so comfy, the bathroom was excellent, big bath, rainfall shower head, heated towel rail and plenty of quality cleaning products. There were additional little touches that make a difference - chocolate lighthouses on our beds, fresh flowers, fishing rods we could use, books on local history, guides on things to do, tea, coffee and milk to get us going. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - stunning coastal views, amazing walks around the rocks, peace and quiet, total relaxation, the coast line to the north is some of the most stunning you would see anywhere in the world. My only gripe was having to leave! In fact Sheila was on hand to wish us goodbye and was even good enough to give me a book on lighhouse accomodation free of charge on learning of my interest in staying in them. Congratulations Sheila, we will be back again very soon!

“Epic” From the moment we opened the door we were totally charmed by the Croft. The kids loved the den which alllowed us to have a lie in. The views across the bay are stunning. The attention to detail within the cottage is a real delight. It's so well equipped for everyone in the family I loved the kitchen and the dogs loved lazing in front of the log burner. The beach is beautiful and we all enjoyed Suds surf school, in particular Polly the golden retriever who came paddle boarding with us! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We'll be back!
