This property is based in the heart of the town, in one of the most sought after areas of town.
It will be hard to get a better location in St Andrews town as all amenities are within a very short walk however the property is located in a quiet peaceful location
St Andrews - 'The home of golf'. One of the most historic places to visit in Scotland.
The town of St Andrews is internationally recognised the world over as the Home of Golf.
The 2015 Open Championships will be the 29th Open played over The Old Course in St Andrews since 1873
There are now 7 Golf courses run by the St Andrews Links Trust:- including the Old Course. A seventh course The Castle Course was opened in June 2008. Many other course are nearby - The Herb Kohler operated Dukes is awesome , Kingsbarns golf links and traditional links courses at Elie, Crail, Leven and Lundin Links.
Other attractions include:- St Rule's Tower, St Andrews Cathedral, St Andrews Castle and St Leonard's Chapel. More contemporary attractions are St Andrews Aquarium, Craigtoun Park and The Botanic Gardens. A lot of our properties are within short walking distance from the Old Course, arguably one of the most famous golfing venues in the world.
Besides being ideal for golfing vacations, St Andrews has so much more to offer: - miles of unspoilt sandy beaches. It is a vibrant, beautiful town with a superb theatre, The Crawford arts centre, golf museum, St Andrews museum, cinema and many restaurants.
The centre is small, but has a good range of shops, offering a stress free shopping experience. St Andrews is also an excellent base for exploring the East Neuk of Fife, where there are beautiful old harbour towns, wonderful walks and excellent bird watching. The East Neuk enjoys spectacular coastlines which boasts fishing villages built around picturesque harbours and unspoilt sandy beaches.

About this location
The Fife region
Edinburgh is around 1hr away by car or train. Good bus services also. Not forgetting The Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe every August. The famous medieval castle and traditional Military Tattoo.
Glasgow is a little further 1.5hrs drive but offers a lot for art and architecture lovers. It has a singularly beautiful Gothic cathedral, plus Victorian and art nouveau building design at every turn - not to mention the prestigious Burrell Collection of art and the historic turn-of-the-century Tenement House.
Perth is an hour away and is often referred to as ‘The gateway to the Highlands". If you want to experience beautiful hills and explore Scotland further afield this is an excellent place to start.
St Andrews is situated on the east coast of Scotland. A beautiful historic town and a marvellous shopping experience. Excellent restaurants and theatres. It is a marvellous base for exploring the East Neuk of Fife.
The East Neuk is old and fascinating, filled with quaint fishing towns and other little treasures like The Secret bunker which was one of Scotland's best kept secrets, now open to the public to give an insight into the command centre that would have been used in the event of a nuclear war.
There are now 6 Golf courses run by the St Andrews Links Trust:- including the Old Course. A seventh course The Castle Course is due to open in June 2008. Many other course are nearby - The Duke's Course, the new Kingsbarns Course and traditional links courses at Elie, Crail, Leven and Lundin Links.
Very close to St Andrews is Magus Muir, marked by a cairn, where Archbishop Sharp was murdered in 1679. The murder of Arch Bishop Sharp is re-enacted every year by the students of St Andrews during the Kate Kennedy Procession, held around the end of April.
Also enjoy beautiful walks including the Fife Coastal Walk - Long Distance Footpath around the coast and fishing villages of Fife, with shorter segments that are easier walking than the whole route. Excellent bird watching opportunities.
Auchtermuchty is on the road from Edinburgh to St. Andrews. As the setting for the recent TV episodes of Dr. Finlay's Casebook, it may well be of interest to those travelling to and from St. Andrews.
Dundee is a half hour drive from St Andrews, and offers a good shopping experience, for those looking for the larger stores.

"FABULOUS APARTMENT-MET ALL OUR REQUIREMENTS!"
Tastefully decorated ground floor apartment situated in the heart of St Andrews, close to the beach and all other local amenities. The property has a lovely enclosed back garden which gets the sun for the majority of the day, loungers and bbq were a great idea if you don't fancy a trip to the beach! We had a fabulous week at 3A Bakers Lane and have already booked again for 2015.

"The best rental in 7 years."
Baker Lane was the best rental we have ever had since we started our annual visits to St Andrews about 7 years ago. The accommodation is excellent and stylish, having access to the rear terrace and garden only adds to sense of space and relaxation that this brilliant let offers. The Location again couldn't be better. All amenities are within 5 minutes walk, weather your going to the east beach or west to the links and the cinema. We loved it so much that we wanted to re book for 2015 before our stay had actually finished.
We highly recommend Baker Lane to anyone want to be in the heart of St Andrews.

"Perfect and convenient to everything on offer in and around St. Andrews."
3A Baker Lane was the perfect place for enjoying everything about St. Andrews and the surrounding area. Its central to town and a ten minute walk has you on the first tee of the New, Old and Jubilee golf courses. Around the corner is the famous Criterion pub for a nightcap. The apartment is well furnished and maintained. If eating out is not your thing, the kitchen facilities are new and modern, or with good weather take advantage of the backyard and the BBQ. Myself and golf partner found the bedrooms well-sized and comfortable. Public transportation makes it easy to get to Edinburgh and if you have a car townsite parking is close by. With golf always on the agenda we will be back to St. Andrews and 3A Baker Lane. Peter the owner goes out of his way to ensure an enjoyable stay.

"Perfect place to rent in St Andrews"
3A Baker Lane is perfectly situated to enjoy all the sights and sounds of St. Andrews. Located next to Market St, we had very close access to restaurants, pubs, shops, public transportation and, of course, we were within easy walking distance of the Links of St. Andrews and the magnificent beach beside them. The apartment was very clean, well furnished and supplied, and the appliances were all up-to-date. We enjoyed the outside patio, especially since we were treated to record high temps during our visit! All in, a high value rental.

"Excellent place to stay / visit, highly recommended..."
What a super location, in the heart of such a beautiful St Andrews. A short stroll and you have a wide choice of amenities, from local shops to high street shops, from local cafes to some super restaurants and some really goods bars.
Very close by you have some of the best golf courses in the world and you will see why this place really is the home of golf.
This apartment is what you would have wished for, contempary layout, all fully furnished, very clean and free wifi being an added bonus. The landlord is one of the most helpful you are likely to meet, fantastic service.
I have stayed here a number of times and will continue to go back.
During peak times you may not be able to park as close as you would like to this apartment but there is always a space available within a short walking distance.
I would recommend you go and stay at 3A Baker Lane, I am sure you will not be disappointed...

"Charming flat in St. Andrews"
A lovely flat in the heart of St. Andrews. Convenient location for golfing, shopping or just strolling the streets of the "old toon". We love it and plan to return as often as possible.

"Wee gem in the heart of town"
I stayed in the ground floor flat. It is located in a quiet lane in the centre of town, great for amenities. 2 big bedrooms with one en-suite. Modern decor, very tasteful. All the appliances you need. The top feature for me is the patio doors opening on to the private tidy garden. The high walls cut out the gentle St Andrews breeze but the glorious Scottish sunshine gets in till late.
I've stayed in most hotels, B&B's and self-catering rentals in town and this is my favourite for location, comfort and value. 6 stars from me !

"Outstanding Property - Like Home From Home, Great Location & Outdoor Space!"
I stayed at this property last summer with my wife and had an amazing time. The property is of a very high quality finish and is fully furnished giving a home from home feel. The self contained outdoor space is great for al fresco dining or BBQs and was ideal as the owner had allowed us to have our small dog with us and she was free to laze around in the garden without us fearing she might escape. The location of the property is perfect as everything is within walking distance including all that the picturesque town of St Andrews has to offer. We stayed for a week and could easily have stayed longer. I would recommend this property to almost all types of travellers except maybe larger groups. This property is much better priced than hotels in the area and in fact offers so much more than a hotel. The conditions / cleanliness of the property, the service and amenities and the overall customer service simply cannot be faulted. My wife and I will definitely be revisiting Baker Lane! I suggest you do too!
