This property is centrally located in Old Town Padstow. Originally, this was the Old Police House and has the tallest door in Padstow to accommodate the police hats worn in those days!
The building comprises of two apartments and each apartment has the fantastic advantage of adjoining parking for one vehicle. Vans and large MPV's would probably not fit, but we can offer a discount towards parking costs if this is the case.
Pets (max two dogs) are welcome.

Although not 5 star Padstow accommodation, this one bedroomed - Apartment 1 is very comfortable, has character and is very well located. The letting price does reflect that improvements could be made (mainly to the exterior) as, having recently taken over the property, the owner hopes to make these improvements over the forthcoming years. The owner would currently rate the apartment as 3 star.
Initial access is through a large communal hallway. From the hallway each apartment has its own private access.
We now have a a WiFi router in the hallway for both apartments to share.
Apartment One is located directly off this hallway, on the ground floor. There is a good sized bedroom, with a Double Bed, off the interior hallway, along with a separate bathroom, which has a shower cubicle, rather than a bath.
Also off the interior hallway is a Lounge/Diner which has a twin sofa and an armchair, and a small Flat Screen TV. There is a folding dining table and two chairs available.
The good-sized and well equipped Kitchen is separated from the lounge by a sliding door, and has an electric 4-ringed hob, an electric oven with grill, and a microwave oven. There is also a fridge. Please do note: There is no dishwasher, washing machine or freezer within the property, although there is a nearby laundrette.
There are Electric Storage Heaters in the bedroom and lounge, plus a fan heater in the kitchen and some electric heaters available, should they be needed.
The hot water is electrically heated throughout.
There is access to the bins through a stable door at the rear of the property. The outside space belongs to the house at the rear, but the steps have shared access for both houses.
There is no double glazing, due to the age of the property so please be prepared for a little passing noise, but the street is very quiet, generally.
Please enquire about shorter lets, which may be available.
Check in is after 3.30pm, but we could be flexible on this during the low season, if possible. Check out is 10.30am.
If staying for two weeks, a local cleaner can come in after the first week for an additional fee of £25
We are happy to accept up to two dogs in the apartment, as it is such a beautiful area for them. Please mention how many pets in your booking enquiry.
Please do note that there is an apartment above this one. We have put new underlay in to keep noise to a minimum but, as in all old houses, impossible to completely mask.

The Cornwall region
Padstow is in the centre of the North Cornwall Coast and is a good base for visiting Newquay, Wadebridge, the Eden Project and Truro. The coast here can be wild and surfing is very popular. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the light changes seemingly every day - inspiring many artists to settle in this region. Visitors return each year to enjoy the scenery and heritage of Cornwall.
Padstow is a beautiful and historic harbour town, which still supports local fishing and has all the watersports you could need within easy access.
The restaurants and pubs in the area have something for everyone and the Camel Trail is fantastic for an easy days' cycling. The nearest beaches are within a 10 minute walk, and Rock can be visited via a regular ferry service.
Excellent golf courses are within easy reach by car, as are all the bays in the St Merryn area

"Wonderful stay in padstow"

We are constantly working to update the property and strive to give all guests a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We are well aware that we are not 'Padstow 5 Star' and we do price the apartments with this in mind, despite our central location and the bonus of parking.
This is only our second season with my sister and I letting professionally (although we are lucky enough to have had the house has been in the family since 1982), and every penny is being put back into the property.
Happily, we have had many returning customers and it has been very, very busy this summer, but this has been putting our cleaner and the furnishings through the mill a little. Your comments re the cleaning and bathroom furnishings have been looked into and I apologise profusely if they were not satisfactory for you.We have positive reviews about the cleanliness usually and want this to continue.
Regarding the noise from upstairs, this is trickier to resolve. We put brand new carpets in this summer with extra thick underlay, but it is an old long-converted house with floorboards
When I am down in September I will have a plumber look at both bathroom arrangements and replace items where needed.
Our next big change will be new windows this winter, and the back door will be changed then, too. It is a bit sticky and we are aware of this.
I hope you are reassured that we do listen to our guests and that improvements are put in place as quickly as possible.

Thanks very much for your review, which did flag up some things we need to change. After the high season we had planned to redecorate, and will ensure this happens ASAP. I have also clarified with you that it was some furnishings in the bathroom you felt needed replacing and I now have these ready to place once there is a gap in bookings, in September.
We always appreciate guests telling us how we can improve things, and we will always endeavour to upgrade as and when possible. I am glad you liked the position and had an enjoyable stay overall. Sally x
