The house has been lovingly refurbished to a high standard to provide all a range of modern conveniences, whilst maintaining the historical ambience of the Grade II listed property. Each room has been individually designed to reflect the Georgian nature of the house and is beautifully furnished throughout. The property comfortably accommodates 12 people and includes a stunning dining room, ideal for special celebrations. Derwent House provides luxury accommodation and has been awarded the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark to reflect the ongoing commitment to protect and enhance the local area.
Situated in a quiet area of Matlock, the spacious property overlooks the brook running through Knowleston Gardens and is located next to Hall Leys Park. Derwent House is the ideal base for sightseeing, walking, water sports, outdoor pursuits and enjoying the myriad of delights offered in the Peak District throughout the year. On-site catering, beauty treatments and holistic therapies can also be booked to add an extra special touch to your stay.

Derwent House is set up with all the facilities to meet the needs of twelve guests with ease.
A washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, together with a retractable washing line and pegs.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, large fridge, microwave, double gas oven with 7 ring hob and a large amount cooking of equipment and utensils.
Wood Burning Stove and heating
In addition to central heating throughout, the main lounge has a wood burning stove with plenty of logs and fire lighters.
A selection of music CDs and DVDs is left for guests. The stereo system has a USB port for MP3 players to play your personal favourites. The 3 televisions all have DVD players attached.
Books, games and toys
A range of books, puzzles and games are provided within the house, together with footballs, badminton rackets and other outdoor games, for use in the park.

The courtyard garden
With original flagstones and salting sink. There is a range of planting and seasonal herbs. The area is enclosed by a gate and has seating for guests.
There is plenty of parking on Knowleston Place, a quiet cul-de-sac where, generally, you can park right outside the house. The park offers a place to walk, relax or play and includes a children’s play area and duck pond. The shops, restaurants and other amenities are all within walking distance making this a perfect location for families and groups.
Derwent House is available for short breaks or full weeks throughout the year. All prices are fully inclusive of facilities - there are no additional charges.
