Cottage | 10 bedrooms | sleeps 20
Sycamore Farm Barns have been lovingly restored and furnished with comfort in mind, all our cottages are heated from locally-sourced wood through underfloor heating from our brand new beast of a wood burner, to keep you snug and the water piping hot.
The three barns can be rented individually, or joined together; providing accommodation for groups of up to 4, 8, 12, 16 or 20. If you would like there are connecting doors between them all.
You're welcome to wander round the farm, including our ancient orchard, fields, ponds and organic plant nursery. If you're looking for plants or advice Nessie will be pleased to help!
Each cottage has its own outside seating and barbecue facilities and there's a shared firepit for those wanting to make the most of those long summer nights, or the cooler ones...!

The South Peak District is dramatic, full of things to do and less busy that the North Peaks. Sycamore Farm Barns are located on a quiet hill above the historic market town of Wirksworth. They offer wide-ranging views across the rolling hills and cliffs of the local area.
The barns are 20 minutes from the M1 and 40 minutes from the M6, so easy to get to from almost anywhere in the UK. Derby is 20 minutes away, Nottingham 40 minutes away and Birmingham less than an hour.
The cottages are peaceful and the roads quiet. The air is usually filled with birdsong; from Goldfinches to Curlews, Owls to Buzzards...
And all the attractions of the Peak District are within easy reach: Chatsworth, Dovedale, Ashbourne, Carsington Water, Bakewell, Haddon Hall, Matlock Bath, Hardwick Hall, Stanage, Hathersage, Edale and Kinder Scout... And of course Wirksworth is only a few short minutes away.
Alport Heights, with its stunning views of the south Peaks and north Midlands is a gentle 10 minute walk away.
Just down the road you can explore Shining Cliff Woods, part owned by the National Trust, including site of special scientific interest and offers fantastic walking, picnic sites and idyllic woodland scenery.
We've Carsington Reservoir within easy reach for all your water sports, the High Peak Trail which is great for family bike rides.
Cromford Village, a World Heritage site where you can discover Sir Richard Arkwright's water powered mills which kick started the Industrial Revolution is a short drive away. And next to Cromford is Matlock Bath, with the best fish and chips in the area, lovely promenades and plenty to do in all weathers...
The historic market town of Wirksworth, with a great slectuon of pubs and places to eat, as well as an amazing annual arts festival is only a mile away from the Barns.
