Much of the cottage has been renovated recently and is warm, inviting and very comfortable. It has a large well fitted kitchen and large cosy sitting room with a dining area. The cottage has two bedrooms one with twin beds, the other has a king size double. All are new and with memory foam mattresses, sheets are cotton, the pillows are feather. All linen and towels are supplied. The cottage has its own private, two level garden with a brick BBQ and outside furniture. French windows open onto the patio and garden. There is off road parking for one car. It is also possible to park on the quiet, no through-road outside.

The village has it's own hotel with bar and restaurant as well as a local grocery shop and newsagent, both are a short (2 minute) stroll away. There are also other restaurants within a 20 min walk and many more within a short drive.

There are beautiful sandy beaches within easy reach both by car and on foot. There are also many delightful walks both on coastal paths and through the countryside. Cyclists are also catered for with over 300 miles of dedicated cycle paths. Children with love the beaches and the huge range of activities for them within easy reach of the cottage.

For golfers there are over 40 golf courses within The Kingdom of Fife from the world famous courses at St Andrews to the Oldest Ladies Course in the World just one mile away in Lundin Links. Lundin Links also boasts the Lundin Golf Course which is used for qualifying rounds for The Open Golf Championships.

Copperfield is close to many historic places and is in the East Neuk of Fife, an area renowned for its quaint fishing villages. We are lucky to be only 10 miles from St Andrews as well as having good road connections to Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and even Glasgow.

The Fife region

The ancient Kingdom of Fife boasts many historic attractions of its own as well as being within easy travelling distance to Edinburgh, Perth and Stirling. It's an easy trip into Edinburgh for the Festival either by car or by train from Kirkcaldy.

Justly famous as the Home of Golf, St Andrews also boasts a cathedral, castle and one of the oldest universities in the world as well as wonderful beaches.

It is also possible to visit many other historic sites, Dunfermline Abbey, Culross, and Falkland Palace to name but a few. We also have a 'Secret Bunker' where Scotland would have been governed from in the event of a nuclear war, assuming anyone had been left to govern!

Apart from the famous St Andrews Golf Courses there are about 40 other golf courses in Fife so plenty to keep the keenest Golfer happy.

Fife also has a long and varied coastline, ideal to explore and beautiful to look at. Apart from the beaches, here are also many activities aimed at children from Deep Sea World to a Deer Park.

Upper Largo is in The East Neuk of Fife which boasts beautiful fishing villages and according to the Met Office an average of 1500 hours sunshine per year. We unfortunately can't arrange the weather for your stay though we do however offer a very nice garden!

The village itself is unspoilt and much of it round the church, including the cottage, is within a conservation area.

Upper Largo makes a very convenient and delightfully peaceful base for exploring the fantastic beaches and countryside in this area as well as offering easy access to many historic buildings and towns. Obviously we are also ideally situated for golf as well as walking, cycling and water sports.

Thanks for your very nice review of Copperfield. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return some time. We're looking at the shower, well not us exactly, but a plumber is due to look to see if the flow can be improved, though it's a very old cottage as you know and sometimes the pipework can become an interesting topic, though generally without major problem!

Thank you very much indeed for your very positive review of Copperfield. We have tried to make it easy for our guests as we like it to be easy for us when we stay in other properties! It is also always a pleasure to have guests who like the area and love the cottage. It is such a lovely area and not actually that well known despite being so close to St Andrews and having easy access to Edinburgh. Thank you once more and hope to see you again in the East Neuk of Fife! Antonia

Thank you so much for your kind review of Copperfield. It is a pleasure to know that everything went well for you all, both while you were with us and before you arrived. We are also glad that it was dust baths you were watching the sparrows were having, sometimes it can be mud baths if you are not lucky with the weather! Don't let this put you off coming back! Thank you again Antonia
