From the owner

Formally the village blacksmiths, the Smithy is a two-storey cottage sitting on the banks of the River Lugg. Situated halfway between Hereford and Leominster, and a short walk away from England's Gate Inn, the Smithy is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, its market towns and the City of Hereford itself.

The accommodation briefly comprises: double and twin bedroom upstairs; shower room, fully fitted kitchen and sitting room downstairs; French windows opening to the riverside garden. Guests at the Smithy have access to the "beach" area directly next to the River Lugg where they may fish, paddle or simply relax!

The Smithy also benefits from: ample off-road parking; free Wi-Fi.

The Forge at Bodenham, consists of four properties, the Smithy, the Granary, the Old Stables and the Hayloft, all of which are available to rent on a self-catering basis.

We had a peaceful and relaxing stay in The Old Stables. Thoroughly recommended, very clean and comfy. We enjoyed sitting by the river in the evenings.

Why can't I call Salma (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Salma (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Salma (the owner) a message.

If Salma (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
