The Somerset region
Glastonbury is set in the midst of beautiful Somerset with its ancient myths and legends of King Arthur. The Isle of Avalon, as it is often called, is a place of pilgrimage for people from all over the world. Glastonbury is a wonderful centre from which to visit such places as Bath, Wells and its stunning cathedral, the ancient stone circle Avebury, Stonehenge and Tintagel. The Dorset coast is an hour away plus Weston-Super-Mare, the Mendips, Exmoor and the Quantock hills.
Visit Glastonbury to experience a magnificent walk up the Tor where the views are panoramic. Walk down the Tor and visit the White Spring in Wellhouse Lane where you can drink the water from the White and Red Springs. Then visit the beautiful Chalice Well Gardens next door where you will discover the ancient Well and again can drink the Red spring water at the Lions Head. The gardens are gorgeous at any time of year and are a place for quiet reflection and meditation. Walk on into the town centre and visit the many cafes and shops and on down to the Abbey set in forty acres of fabulous grounds. There is so much to do yo won't want to leave!

"Pretty little garden flat nestled in the Somerset hills."
A snug little garden flat nestled in the Somerset hills. My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful break in this lovely property, the conservatory overlooking the Somerset levels is the real star attraction. The flat was very clean and pretty with all mod cons, hairdryer and washing machine, dishwasher all provided, everything you would need for self-catering. It was very easy to walk into Glastonbury High Street from the property and explore all the lovely, magical shops. Chalice Well and the Tor and Glastonbury Abbey are all within easy walking distance, so no need to worry about parking. I would say that it was just right for a couple, although there is a sofa bed I think it would be cramped for more than 2 people. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and I hope we get a chance to return.

"A perfect place to rest and renew."
We were attracted to this apartment by the description of the wonderful view, conservatory and garden which exceeded our expectations! We were very lucky to have early Spring sunshine so experienced it at its best. I appreciated the tranquility especially and could have happily used the time as a retreat. We had visited Glastonbury several times before and hope to live there one day so our recommendation may be a little biased! There is so much to see and do in and around the town. If you're new to the area I would recommend a walk up the Tor, a visit to Chalice Well Gardens and of course the Abbey. There is always something going on and just walking around town is fascinating. You are likely to meet some interesting people and the shops are full of unusual and beautiful things as well as thought-provoking books. There are lots of places to eat and, as vegans, we are very well catered for! We particularly like 'Rainbows End' and 'The Hundred Monkeys.' We would love to return to 'The Flying Dragon's Nest' one day.

"Stunning Views. Peaceful Apartment"
From going through the gate at the front of the property we became entranced by the charm of the apartment. The conservtory has stunning views and there was nothing better then taking in the views whilst enjoying a cuppa. The bed and bedding provided are very comfortable and slept better then normal. The bathroom is clean with double shower There is everything there you could possibly need!

"Great romantic destination for a special break"
My husband and I loved the Flying Dragon's nest. The flat is very sweet and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for a couple to relax. The garden is beautiful and the views across the Somerset Levels are absolutely breath-taking, especially at sunset. A really good location for Glastonbury town and the owners are lovely too. Full of advice for the local area, they are really helpful without being too involved!

"Wonderful would defiantly recommend"
The flat is very well equipped with everything you need, very clean and beautifully decorated and has a gorgeous view, beds very comfy and the owners were very welcoming and friendly. Would defiantly return. You also have your own entrance so really feel like its yours for the stay. Despite being only a 5 min walk from the centre of Glastonbury its really peaceful and quiet.

"Beautiful views over Glastonbury...""
Vanessa and Renchi are lovely people, and very welcoming. The flat is an ideal base for visiting Glastonbury itself, Chalice Well, The Tor, and also attractions further away such as Wookey Hole or Cheddar Gorge. The flat is comfortable and has a beautiful garden with lots of wildlife and amazing views over Glastonbury. I am hoping I can get to go back again next year...

"Just THE BEST holiday ever! The world needs more people like Renchi and Vanessa."
Despite heavy snow and icy roads I was collected from the bus with warmth and smiles. and taken to the "nest" , which was cosy and clean and stocked with essentials like real organic coffee. A Christmas tree in the conservatory and wonderful views over the town and snowy fields. I did not have my own transport so the location was perfect; easy walking distance to the town, the tor, Challice Well, Wearyall Hill, The white spring, the local ashram, the abbey and across the fileds to Gog and Magog. The local shops, markets and cafes are filled with organic, fairtrade, and fresh local produce. There is a strong feel of community and friendship in Glastonbury, the spiritual history is still very much alive in the hearts of the residents. Renchi and Vanessa went out of their way to make my holiday very special, taking me to Stonehenge, Avebury ring and Silbury Hill. A Magic Holiday!
