Farmhouse Cottage is an 18th century former farm worker's dwelling' set on a working farm. The cottage was updated and newly refurbished in 2013 whilst retaining many of the original features of oak beamed ceiling and an open fire. Farmhouse cottage has a warm and cosy kitchen / living / dining room with oak staircase leading to a large bedroom with a sizeable en suite shower room. The bedroom can be adjusted to accommodate either a luxurious queen size bed or alternatively twin single beds. The cottage has been furnished to a high standard with a new fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher and has been carpeted throughout. Central heating and an open fire - means that Farmhouse Cottage is warm, comfortable and cosy. It has a new 40"flat screen freeview television and even has an electric reclining chair! The cottage enjoys a view of 'Bosley Cloud'- the local landmark. Walks up Bosley Cloud are a must - to appreciate the spectacular views over the Chehire plains, Staffordshire and Derbyshire's Peak District. Farmhouse Cottage is on the borders of all three Counties and is therefore a convenient and suberb location for exploring the delights of all three counties including the Peak District of Derbyshire. An abundance of National Trust properties, historic houses and beautiful gardens are nearby together with Jodrell Bank with its Lovell Telescope, Alton Towers theme park, the Gritstone Trail walking route, Macclesfield and Delamere Forests, the Roaches and Hanging Stone, Chatsworth House, Styal Mill, Rudyard Lake, Tittesworth Reservoir, and Silk Museums in Macclesfield & Leek. The Potteries are within 25 minutes drive away and the roman city of Chester is within an hour's drive. The Heart of England/Peak District

Farmhouse Cottage is nestled in the foothills of the stunning Derbyshire's Peak District with it's picturesque villages and wonderful scenery. But it also has the benefit of being situated on the boundary of Cheshire and Staffordshire - so is an ideal base to explore places of interest in all three counties - from rural activities such as walking, cycling, golf, fishing, sailing and horse riding to visiting an array of historic houses such as Chatsworth House, Little Moreton Hall and Tatton Park. Beautiful gardens, the fabulous Alton Towers theme park, local theatres such as Buxton Opera House and museums are in abundance. The historic city of Chester is within easy access as are the cities of Manchester and Liverpool. The scenery is spectacular and we would recommend Teggs Nose, Bosley Cloud, Rudyard Lake, Macclesfield Forest, The Roaches and Hanging Stone, Tittesworth Reservoir as beautiful 'must sees'. Off road routes are available to enjoy for walkers, riders and cyclists on the disused railway lines now called the Biddulph Valley Way and the Middlewood Way.

Congleton

Conveniently situated between the Derbyshire Peak District and the Cheshire Plains, Farmhouse Cottage is also located betwixt the historic and pretty market towns of Congleton, Macclesfield and Leek and within 20 minutes drive from the beautiful spa town of Buxton. Just 30 minutes drive away from the M6 motorway or Manchester Airport - and 10 minutes from either Macclesfield or Congleton railway station. Surrounded by farmland, Farmhouse Cottage is a walker's paradise on either hills or plains with spectacular scenery. Interesting places to visit are all around us from historic houses such as Chatsworth House and Tatton Park to Chester Zoo, Jodrell Bank and Styal Mill. The Potteries, theatres, museums, silk mills are all located nearby. Off road cycling routes such as the Biddulph Valley Way and Middlewood Way, sailing on Rudyard Lake, a number of golf courses, riding centres mean that there is an activity or interest to suit everyone. Local annual events include the Cheshire Show, Leek Show, the RHC Flower Show at Tatton Park, Cholmondley Pagaent of Power, Chatsworth Horse Trials & Country Fair, Peover Country Fair, Gawsworth Hall outdoor concerts, village well dressings in Derbyshire, Flash Races, Village Rose Queen crowning fetes, outdoor music festival at Capesthorne Hall, Manchester's Gay Pride Carnival, Chester Races, Sutton sheep dog trials, Bakewell Show, Hope Show, Ashbourne Show, Nantwich Show including the largest cheese show in the country, Nantwich boat and folk music festival, antique and craft fairs at Capesthorne Hall & Gawsworth Hall, Church & Chapel flower festivals, Macclesfield Forest annual rush bearing service, Macclesfield's monthly Treacle Market, Wilmslow's monthly Artisan Market, Rode Heath's monthly farmer's market, Macclesfield's Silk Museum & Heritage Centre, Anson Boat Lift, Nelson Pitt coal museum, Foxfield Steam Railway, Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Gardens and much much more!

"A very cosy comfortable cottage"

We really enjoyed our stay. A really lovely cottage with everything you need. It has a very good sized bedroom and bathroom. It has still got its traditional charm but has all the modern facilities … More

Many thanks for your lovely review - we're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed our new holiday cottage. We really enjoyed having you to stay with us and it was fortunate that your week co-incided with the start of our lambing season - so that you were able to see and hold our newly born lambs. We also welcomed hearing about your visits to local places of interest and eateries - which you'd obviously enjoyed - and also acknowledged that there's loads more to see and do in our lovely part of the world - and so we hope to be able to welcome you again on a return visit. Many thanks again - it was a pleasure to have you as our guests. Brenda & Tom
