From the owner

Wills Barn is a traditional stone field barn that has been thoughtfully converted into a 'glamping' style accommodation, ideal for those who want to get back to nature without roughing it! Stunning views across the valley, from the barn, invite you to explore this unspoiled and quiet area of the beautiful Peak District National Park.

Historically, Wills Barn housed cattle through the long winter months, keeping them snug, well fed and sheltered from the elements. These days our many guests rave about how cosy and welcoming the barn feels. Please read our excellent Trip Advisor reviews. They say that the barn makes the perfect base for getting away from the pressures and stresses of modern life. Our guests have fallen in love with the idyllic Manifold Valley that's just a short walk away. The spectacular Thors Cave awaits.

The barn sits on the outskirts of the pretty conservation village of Butterton. Enjoy a pint of real ale at the traditional Black Lion Inn with its open fires and a real olde-world atmosphere. Again, within a few minutes walk.

Although the village is quiet and off the beaten track, the nearby market towns of Leek, Ashbourne and Buxton have all you require regarding shopping and eating out. The nearest of these (Leek) is just a 12 minute drive away and has most major supermarkets.

Local attractions include the world class theme park, Alton Towers (15 minutes drive), the historic Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire (25 minutes drive) and many, many more Peak District attractions from Crich Tram Museum to the depths of the Blue John Caverns at Castleton.

In the barn itself, a rustic log-burning stove provides heating and simple cooking facilities. There is a microwave, small kettle, toaster and small camp stove for guests to use to cook with also. There are plates, mugs, glasses, cutlery, pans, cooking utensils for up to six guests to use. Most of the barn furnishings, including the beds, have been individually crafted using reclaimed antique pine from the farm.

The layout is open plan with a separate toilet and shower area.

Wills Barn sleeps four guests in two bunk beds and another two on a single day bed and a single pull out trundle which can be pushed together to make a double.

The whole of the barn and the surrounding lawned area is exclusively for the use of the guests. There is a patio area with picnic benches and a small fire pit to sit and admire the view by day, and the stars at night.

Parking is off road and for up to three vehicles.

Extra guests are welcome to camp in the grounds; however, this must be pre-arranged and has an additional cost. The barn is equipped for six guests, so any additional would need to bring required items (including the tent of course!).

There is no wifi and phone signal is limited inside the barn and out. We supply a bag of wood for your stay any additional would need to be purchased.

Great place and lovely hosts. The barn feels isolated, but the pub is within walking distance. The wood burner kept us very warm.
