Set in Scotland in the glorious Fife countryside, just 10 miles from St Andrews and 5 miles from Dundee, Valentines Cottage is part of Sandford Country Cottages, 4 luxury self-catering cottages which are part of the 'B' Listed Arts and Crafts House designed by Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott around 1902.

Valentines Cottage is named after Harben J Valentine, who commissioned the architect to design 'Sandford Cottage' for his family in 1902.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed, which can be split into two singles and one with a double bed. Both bedrooms are en-suite, one with a bath and one with a walk-in shower, both are fitted with Trevi rainwater showers.

The comfy beds have sumptuous duvets and pillows and the bedlinen is crisp white Egyptian cotton. Microfibre duvets and pillows can be supplied if required.

Upstairs you'll find a spacious open kitchen/living/dining room with oak beams and posts, 2 x 2 seater sofas and a dining table and 6 chairs. There is also a flat screen TV and a Bluetooth speaker. The kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and coffee pod machine.

All cottages have oil central heating and a wood burning stove. Electricity, heating and one basket of logs is included in the rental cost, additional logs can be purchased from the office.

Why can't I call Evelyn (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Evelyn (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Evelyn (the owner) a message.

If Evelyn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
